They also don't want their ratings to drop, but I predict that is exactly what will happen.
Well, of course they don't "want" their ratings to drop, but they're not idiots. They
know their ratings are going to drop. They also know that their ratings can drop by 1/3 and they'll still be #1 in their time slot. And their ratings can even drop by 1/2 and they'll still be able to call it a win.
So it isn't a matter, I don't think, of whether or not their ratings will go down, but rather whether or not the ratings will be halved or worse.
Let's face it. The other judges are boring at best.
And Marcia Cross looks plain standing next to Teri Hatcher. However, take Marcia Cross on her own, and she's incredibly beautiful. (If you happen not to like Teri Hatcher, then you can surely find two other actresses that would fit the analogy better for you.)
The point is that, without Simon, Kari, especially, may become a better contributor to the mix. (I don't think Randy really has much range, in this regard, so what we're getting now is probably all we're ever going to get.)
Simon is the only one who tells it as it is.
Kari does as well -- she just finds herself sometimes having to compensate for Simon's exaggeration.
And just to be clear, I don't think we're talking about another 9 years... I think we'll see another full season of AI, maybe two. And possibly one or both over the summer.
