Can any one tell me if silver springs is worth a visit, also thinking of visiting gaylord palms ice display at christmas, has anyone been?

Its been a while since we went to Silver Springs, but it took us nearly 3hrs from All Star Sports hotel, then it was just a small glass bottom boat along the silver river with a stop off at a small nature park.

Its worth a visit if you have plenty of time and want a slow paced day, opposite to a theme park day, but I wont be going back in the near future. :sunny:

We went four years ago and loved it. So much so that when our friends went to Florida last year we recommended highly that they paid a visit - they did and absolutely hated it - I don't think they are talking to us yet! :sad1:

I have since heard that the park has changed ownership since we visited and that it is apparently very run down...

Thanks for you reply i'm not sure what to do as it is quite a large entry fee for a family 0f 5

Hello, I don't live far from Silver Springs!

It's a great park and around Christmas time they have a fantastic light display.

If you're coming from Disney it will only take you 1 1/2 hours if you follow these direction-

192, to route 27 towards Clermont, to the Florida Turnpike which will turn into route 75. Then you will see signs for Silver Springs. Do NOT go route 75 from the Orlando area because it swings way out and it will literally double the trip time.

You can also save 12.00 per family by bringing a can of Coke with you, which will bring the cost down to 21.99 a person.

Here's the website- http://www.silversprings.com/
