Silver DVC 25th Anniversary mailing ...

Why not just use the digital one? That seems to solve these problems pretty easily!
 

I did call yesterday to ask for membership cards and I was denied. CM told me I have to wait to see if they come in the mail.

Our cards had not arrived either when I spoke with Member Services. The CM tried to request the cards for me and said the request was denied for one of our contracts. A few days later all of the cards arrived in a single envelope. I'm not sure if the cards arrived because of the request that went through or if they were already on their way. I wonder if a denial means the cards are already on their way.
 
Yes. I just downloaded them off the website 2 nights ago, so thanks to that action, I have, in fact, received my cards! :D

I don't understand why DVC is issuing new cards - I'm sure they must have a very good reason? :confused3

And our "new" cards have an expiration of 2021. So 5 years from now, I guess we get to do this all over again!! :rotfl:

The digital card is always good for 3 months from when you display it. If you open it tomorrow, it'll expire one day later, etc.

I'm sure, by now, there are a lot of former owners who have since sold their deeds but continue to present the card for discounts. Reissuing will curtail that somewhat.

Ah, good point! Since I don't ever think of selling, that never crossed my mind! :thumbsup2

But honestly, I will feel more loved by DVC when our cards arrive in the mail! :rotfl:
 
Still waiting here too......just came back from a trip. Used the old cards.
going to Aulani in May......do they offer DVC discounts?
 
We never got our new cards or any 25th anniversary envelope here on Long Island. Any other Islander's receive yet?
 
Received new membership cards this week for the two memberships purchased on resale market. Received card last month for membership purchased from Disney.

I have to agree completely. We just went to disneyland yesterday and, after getting the discount all day at various locations around the 2 parks, were suddenly denied at one of the gift shops on main street. My better half was told "that's just a piece of paper, ma'am" . Very classy. Then the manager told us that "They're a lot stricter on main street". The absurdity of that inane comment aside, having the actual card would have avoided that unfortunate experience with managerial ignorance.

So, I hope these cards show up soon!!

I put clear tape over both sides of the "paper", cut it very carefully to "card size" -- but it still looks like a piece of paper! :headache: What y'all just experienced is exactly what many of us fear. I'm sorry to hear this happened to your family.

Why they can't get these cards to us in a more timely fashion is beyond me! This has been going on for, what -- 2 months now? :rolleyes: We've been owners for over 11 years so we've got to be on some list by now!! :rotfl:
 
I called member services yesterday and they were very helpful. After getting all the info about which specific stores and who i spoke with (thanks to Paul of West Covina, CA for the experience), a supervisor in some department came on the line and told me she was sending a bulletin to all the retailers in the park detailing the policy to accept the digital cards. Granted, Paul probably didn't read the last one that was likely sent, either, but I appreciate the effort nonetheless. And she refunded the 10% via some other magic process, too. Now we have enough for a bottled water or something next time. Woohoo.

I mainly called to inform them of the issue so hopefully it'll get resolved. If nobody reports these things, they'll never get sorted out.

Now I get to enjoy the fun of writing a letter about the lovely girl at city hall who refused to issue a disability pass to my disabled stepson. Sigh.

CM said he ordered cards for DH and myself (he knew our names and address since I was logged in to my DVC account). Stated we would receive our cards in "3 to 4 weeks". I'll be leaving for WDW in 4 weeks so it sure would be nice if they arrive by then!! :confused3

Still waiting. I didn't print the digital one because there was only one showing for me, not DH too - what's up with THAT anyway?! I read above on an earlier post that the digital ones are only good for 3 months from when you display them so I don't know now if mine is now "dated" from whenever I previewed it? We don't go until June but it would be NICE to get them already. I called a week or so ago with another question and while I was on the phone I asked the CM if there was a timeline for them to be finished mailing out and he said they're all supposed to be mailed by April 1st. SOOOO I guess now that it's APRIL we theoretically should receive ours this week? (The CM on the phone that day said he could "put in" for ours to go ahead and be mailed out but I still haven't received them and that was over a week ago.) Wondering if they're mailing them out in batches based on your use year or something? We're December so maybe since it's the 12th month of the year it's last to get mailed?! Anybody else here already get theirs with a Dec. UY?!?! Or maybe they're mailing them alphabetically? Our last name starts with a 'W' so we're always last....
