Silly Time Zone Question

We are flying out of Indy in December. We live in NW Indiana (central time) -- with the time change in November will we then be on the same time zone as Indy?? As often as we go to Indy, I still ALWAYS screw this up. I guess just one more reason to drive in the night before.

TIA

I believe that all of Indiana observes daylight savings, so whether you're in NW Indy (with Central time) or the rest of Indiana (Eastern time), all will turn the clocks back an hour on November 4 at 2:00 a.m. So there will still be an hour difference in time.

I believe Sandi is correct. While at one time the part of Indiana that was in Eastern time did not observe daylight savings time and thus did not spring ahead or fall back, that is no longer the case. All of Indiana now observes DST which means all of Indiana will fall back on the designated date. So the two parts of Indiana that are in Central time (NW Indiana/Gary) (SW Indiana/Evansville) will remain one hour behind Indy.

Oh,and Tia, in the old days when DST was not observed in the Eastern time portion of Indiana, it would be now that your time and Indy time was the same. After the fall back, that was when there was an hour difference.
