Silly Ticket & MDE Question

I am not really sure where to post this question, so I thought I would start here. You guys will probably think this is silly, but sometimes I overthink things. We have purchased our tickets and need to link them to our MDE account. Once I link a ticket to a specific person, does that ticket need to be with that same person? We will be getting magic bands, but this whole thing with putting your ticket numbers in MDE and getting FP+ options really makes my head spin. Is it okay for me to write small the names of each person on the ticket? I don't want to ruin the ticket in any manner.

The MDE site states theta you can reassign the ticket in MDE as long as it's not used. Once it's used, you can't change it. And yes, you could write the persons name on the original ticket with a Sharpie if you needed to do that.

We linked our tickets to our MB's and, although I carried our hard tickets with us, we didn't need them at all. Once you have them linked, everything works through the MB. But, I would carry them, just in case.

If you don't want to mar you ticket to keep it pristine for a souvenir, you shouldn't have to.

You would only need to have the ticket if you get to the park and your MB doesn't work like it is supposed to. If that is the case, whomever you have designated as the holder of all tickets (because my kids are not allowed to carry their own tickets) would be able to whip out the stack of tickets and get it sorted out. No need to fret about identifying each ticket to a specific person. Members of your group should not need to carry their tickets around with them all day once you get into the park.

OTOH, in the days before Magic bands, we always used to write names on the tickets with a sharpie so that we could tell them apart quickly and there was no problem with that.

So just one more thing. I can scratch of the balance of the numbers on the back of each card and link them to our magic bands, but they are technically not valid until the first day we use them, right? We have never done it this way before. It make me nervous to scratch the numbers. lol
