Silly question re: how many points needed

Ok, I never thought of this and since I am planning a spring break vacation, kinda need to know. Our spring break is at the end of March/beginning of April. We are wanting to go to Hilton Head and March is cheaper in points than April but we will be staying both. Do the points work the same way as Disney Hotels that the rate is the on the same chart as the day you check in, or do I need to calculate my March days and April days at different rates? Hope this makes since. Also, they have a weekly rate, I think it was 200 points for a week in March. Is that the same whether the whole week is in March or part march/part April? Anybody tried for availability during this time yet, am I wasting my time or do you think there might be availability? Just waiting for a yes from my hubby!

Each day is calculated differently. The March days will be using March points, and the April days will use April points.

DVC points values are split into seasons just like the Disney hotel rates are. However, you will have to calculate your points on a daily basis, not by the week or whatever your length of stay might be. It is very possible (maybe even likely) that the points needed per day of your stay will change, depending on which seasons (Adventure, Choice, Dream, Premier) you fall into.

For example, a studio at Hilton Head will cost:

March 1-31, 2004 (Choice Season):

Sun-Thurs ...... 8
Fri ................. 17
Sat ................ 21

April 1-30, 2004 (Dream Season):
Sun-Thurs ...... 12
Fri ................. 23
Sat ................ 35

I will try to answer your question using March 27th with check out April 3. In a 2 bedroom since that might be the easiest to get at this time.
