MY DS11 LOVES to cook and he wants the magic bullet he saw on an infomercial. He actually brought me the 100.00 it costs and put it on my desk and asked me to buy it. I finally saw the infomercial and wasn't too impressed but he still wants it. I thought about giving it to him for Christmas because I hate the idea of him spending that much money on it. Does anyone have one and how do you like it? Thanks in advance.

What is it exactly, I've never seen it, nor heard of it!

It's an infomercial special, a mixer/chopper thingie.

How funny, jajuan! That's so sweet that your DS wanted it so much that he brought you his money! I'd love for my DS11 to be that interested in cooking.

Unfortunately, this looks like another one of those overpriced gadgets that might be fun for a few days, then be eternally relegated to the back of the storage cabinet. They can make ANYTHING look cool on an infomercial!

:teeth:

Looks like a blender on steroids. Sorry, this is the first I've heard of the bullet.

Here's a review I found online:

Magic Bullet Review

I also found it for under $80 in a buch of places, so I'd do a search if you decide to let him get it.

LOL...that is how I feel. They are offering buy one get one free now and I thought I could do that and put the other one on e-bay. I was just hoping that someone had bought it and tried it out. He makes marinades and everything that seem disgusting and they turn out to be awesome. He will have a lucky wife...lol. I only wish my hubby knew how to cook.

Another thing is that it is so small and we have a family of 6. I told him he would have to make 3 batches of everything and therefore not save any time...lol.

On the website is says buy one get one free. Maybe you can find someone who wants one also and you can split the cost.

I've never heard of the "Bullet" either. The review doesn't encourage me to get one of these.

It's been my experience that things that are sold on informercials never work that well. Take him shopping, let him look at blenders or food processors. He'd get more for his money, and if something goes wrong, the store and/or the manufacturer would back the product better.

It seems very small, especially for a family your size.

Sorry - I can't help myself.....

I never heard of it before, but the first thing I thought of was Margaret Hoolihan on M*A*S*H talking about "the bullet of health." :teeth: :rotfl:

Backing away now.... ;)

If it is buy one get one free right now or something like that - it will only be a matter of time before it hits somewhere like Bed Bath & Beyond.

Hay, I saw the Natural Bra there the other day ;)

I have the Magic Bullet and I love it. I use it for chopping things like garlic and onions for cooking but I mainly use it for smoothies (I have been dubbed the Smoothie Queen by my friends). And it's actually bigger than you think.

as a man that cooks and makes marinades and other yucky looking things that taste good,,,,, i saw the bullet,, wasnt really that impressed with it as much more than a drink maker,,, i agree with Missy,,, take him to a storewhere they sell good quality food processors and blenders,, he could get both, for about the same money,, and as an additional selling poi8nt,, if he bakes a food processor can be used to make biscuit and pie doughs almost hands free... imho the bullets over priced for what it will do, and that many asseccories willl tend to get miss placed quickly, if he ever learns to use a good chefs knfe ( mine is an old "old hickory" it holds a really good edge if dd doesnt put it into the dish washer) he'll prefer to chop by hand anyway:)

I have a friend at work that has one. She and her son are the only ones in her house, so she doesn't really have a need for a large mixer/chopper. She seems to like it pretty well.

I agree with everyone, if you get it, sell the extra one on ebay.
