I got my ears pierced last week. It was the 2nd time I had it done because the first time was when I was a young teenager and I let them grow in a year or so later. I have little question about them though.

How long are the ears supposed to be sore afterward? I have been cleaning them per instructions given to me. They don't feel sore or anything until I twist them around per instructions.. Then right around the edges of the earing feels sore. Thanks for any insight . :thumbsup2

the bruised feel can last from a couple days to a couple weeks, depends on if you bump them or sleep on them and such.

The piercing takes several weeks to heal. The only pain I felt was maybe some crusties breaking lose from the twisting.

If the pain worsens--or it still hurts after the 6-8 week period....then maybe it is an intolerance to the metal in the studs.

My dd9 has sensitive lobes. We do fine with the piercings. The first time she was pierced, we discovered problems once we changed those outs. Now we know that she can only where Sterling silver or 14K gold or higher. My ears and my mom's ears are the same way.
