Silly Putty out of fur?

Hi. DD's new kitty sat in silly putty last night and we can't get it all out.HELP US? We tried snipping it out but now its licking and biting it out. Is a little bit ok to eat? WHAT ELSE.

Try hand-sanitizer. Silly putty dissolves in alcohol. (Don't ask me how I know this!) So I would think a few squirts of hand sanitizer would get it loose. Wrap a towel around the cat and try to keep her calm while performing the procedure.

ETA: This bugged me, b/c I know I'd heard to use hand sanitizer on Silly Putty, but couldn't remember where.

Peanut butter removes chewing gum, but Silly Putty may have a different base than chewing gum.

Just be careful using alcohol based products or anything else toxic, because that might be worse than the Putty! From what I can find, most Silly Putty is non-toxic so ingesting a little bit shouldn't hurt kitty. You can always call the 24 hour emergency vet and ask them how to get it off.
