Silly Boston, Mooninite LEDs aren't dangerous at all.

Recently, some LED lights in the shape from of the Mooninites from ATHF have shown up in a couple of cities, and Boston flipped. The bomb squad was called in to remove some blinking LED lights. See a problem?

This is the radio that is discussing this right now. So far they've compared this to 9/11, compared the show to Mickey Mouse, said that even though they aren't bombs they are still a danger, and have been generally ignorant. This whole thing is Gold.

Now, I'm not one to meddle in other states affairs, but come on. They're treating this like it's some major threat to society. "OH NOES, IT MIGHT BLINK IN SOMEONES EYES >=(."

A couple of updates:

In the time it took me to type this, they're interviewing someone from Homeland Security, the host has said that "TIME WARNER HAD NO RIGHT TO PUT THESE ON OUR BRIDGES. THEY'RE OURS, NOT TIME WARNERS >=(((." and have pulled out all the stops to keep people who dissagree with their views from getting on the air. GOLD.

I epsecially like the Homeland Security guy (HSG). "THE THINGIES HAD THE BLINKING LIGHTS AND WIRES! IT MUST BE A BOMB!!! THEY SHOULD HAVE JUST TAKEN SOME CARDBOARD AND SAID "TURN THIS IN AND YOU GET A PRIZE!" OR SOMETHING." Hmm, I wonder why they wouldn't do that. Oh yea, because THAT'S STUPID. The point was to get their attention. "COULD THE AMBULANCES NOT MAKE IT TO THE HOSPITALS?" Blinking lights are totally stopping ambulances. God, this whole thing reeks of stupid.

HSG is now saying that they should say something to the likes of "We're sowwy Boston, we pwomise we'll never do this again." And the host is agreeing with him. Not only that, but despite the fact that they released the location of these things, they're still saying they should do JUST THAT.

Let us not forget, PERSONAL INSULT >=(.

Not only that, but they blew one up on the news there. Why? Because they could.

I think that's just stupid. What about potassium permangnate and gasoline? Mixed together correctly in small doses it can blow up a car. I can buy it from Sears and a gas station. lol

Oh... so that's what they looked like. I read elsewhere that they looked like characters on ATHF, but it didn't say which ones.

UPDATE:

There have been two arrests in this case. Peter Berdovsky, 27, and Sean Stevens, 28, have been arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Planting Hoax Bombs. Now, let's pause a minute here. Disorderly, as I assume, usually pertains to something disruptive to something above, "Hey, what's that thingamabob?" Not only that, but nowhere did TWC or AS say, "Hey, there's bombs in your city. Thought you should now that," which completely rules out the "Hoax Bombs."

Now, they went to court with grins on their face and pleaded "Not Guilty," and where later involved in a press conference. Rather than talking about what happened, they.. well, just watch.

Now, on Boston's and the news' reactions. Boston has just fueled this fire. These things have been here for two weeks. TWO WEEKS. If this were a real bomb threat, would the "terrorists" really wait TWO WEEKS to detonate a bomb? But lo, the police are patting themselves on the back for a "job well done." Yes, well done. YOU'D BE DEAD RIGHT NOW IF THIS WERE A REAL BOMB THREAT. GOOD JOB. Not only that, but almost every single person either reporting or being interviewed about this has either compared this to 9/11, demanded an apology from just about everyone, or have said that this is a major threat to society. Indeed it is. Curse those Lite-Brites. Curse them all.

How long until Boston realizes they just became the laughing stock of EVERYONE? I'm willing to say never, but that seems a bit gererous to Boston.

Congratulations Boston, you doubled the viewers of Adult Swim's air time. You sure are full of win.

I think Both Boston officials and Adult Swim made a mess of this one.
Adult Swim should have called Boston officals about them advertising... and Boston officials over reacted...

When I would watch the news, it made me ill...
First off, WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES!, when i heard the governor, or mayor say "turner will pay"...i was like...wow like he never made a mistake in his life.

Second, why are you mad that the two people who were told to put them up, started talking about something else durning there interview? they were told not to talk....

the one thing i don't get, these things were up for two weeks until somebody though it was a bomb?...why two weeks later?

Ok, i will say, that i am one of the losers that love Aqua Teen... i think it's a funny show.
