OK, I know this sounds silly but, do you think I would have to call MS day by day for Columbus Day week in October 2005? Ordinarily, I wouldn't worry about it, but since Yom Kippur also falls that week and the kids around here are off from school that day too, I'm wondering if it will be harder to get ressies that week? Also, does the Food and Wine Festival start then? Will there be any nights for Mickey's Halloween party?

I'm already in the middle of planning 2 other vacations and I'm already worried about the next one! I really need to get more excitement in my life LOL

call the first day 11months from the day after you will check-in - and ask MS.

they generally know when a week is going to hot and go fast - they will say if you need to call every day - or if you can let the rest of your reservation wait until the end.

Good advice from spiceycat - let MS be your guide. :)

FWIW, unless you are trying to get a standard view or a guaranteed Boardwalk view at the BWV or a Grand Villa anywhere, one phone call should do it. October just doesn't fill up so fast that you need to do day by day calling.

Best wishes -

Stimpy, you don't mention what resort you are planning to reserve, and that is an important consideration here.

Our home resort is BWV, so for our planned stay over Columbus Day 2005, we are definately calling MS day-by-day, since we like the Std View (so if that's what you want to reserve, you know you'll be competing with us for it ;)). I would do the same for BW view BWV or if reserving at BCV, bcs I expect the Food & Wine to be in full swing at that time as it is in 2004. For any other DVC resort (or for pool/garden view @BWV), I think you could safely wait until 11 months from checkout day and get what you want.
