It's been 4 years since our last trip to Disney so I'm not sure if they still make silhouettes in the Magic Kingdom? If so, what's the current price? Thanks!

They did as of December 2010. I believe it was $18 for two silhouettes and a very nice oval black frame. Such a great souvenir!

Do you automatically get 2? Can you buy just one for less? I don't have a need for 2 of the same. If I have 2 kids can I get one fo each kid?

Can they do both kids on the same one?

The paper they cut is doubled so you automatically get two silhouettes. You can't get 1 for less because it isn't any less work for them. Frames are extra so if you only frame one, you will save money there.

They can do two kids in one silhouette.

I love our silhouettes from WDW - they are some of my very favorite souvenirs. Just a couple of points to know:

1 - There are 2 places to get them in MK: One just off Main Street, one in Liberty Square. There's also one at DTD.
2 - They don't accept Disney room charge, just cash or Visa/MC.

I particularly like the double portraits. The one of my husband and me was done on our honeymoon; the one of our sons was done over 11 years later.

We have gotten a silhouette every time we visited since my daughter's birth so we now have one of her in every year of her life. It's my favorite keepsake. Last trip, I was so excited to get the first silhouette of both children cut. Unfortunately, the finished product didn't come anywhere near to the quality of previous years. I was so disappointed. Some of it wasn't the artist's fault as, while he was working, a woman kept coming over and waving things in front of him, asking questions about the drawings in the same area. Anyway, after we walked away and I expressed my disappointment to DH, we ended up taking it to another artist and he offered to cut a new one and then we could keep the one we liked best. He did a fantastic job (when I went home, I saw from the signature that he had cut one for us two years ago.) The point is, we wanted to offer him something for the new silhouette and we found out that they work for a private company and take tips. Now I will be sure to tip next time we have this done in Disney.

Both of the ones we had at wdw where by the same guy, two yrs apart
The third was from dl
This yr we will get te forth done
They are reall nice imo

I was curious about this, anyone care to add any current info?
:thanks:

I'm looking for information on this, does anyone know if this still available and if so where?

Does anyone have recent prices etc?

I'm looking to get a double and 1 each of them with a character.

I read somewhere that they cut 2 of the same one, can I use the second one for the one with the character? Do I only pay for the character one they cut out or do I need to pay again for the other one to be used? I hope I'm making sense.

Thanks in advance :)

They cut two at once - so there is no way to get a single for a lower price. The artist was in Liberty Square. You can find this in the My Disney Experience app. I think we paid $18 or $20 for them.

I second what the previous poster said. Also wanted to add that there's also an artist in France at Epcot. My profile picture is the one we got just a couple months ago. It's very affordable especially by Disney standards and is one of my favorite souvenirs.

Hello,

I had this done when I was a kid and love seeing on my mom's wall. Headed down this xmas and would love to get one of my daughter. Just a couple of quick questions.

1. How long does it take to get one done? We will have a busy trip but would love to be able to fit this in if possible.

2. How busy is it? Is it just a walk-in scenario or can I stop by and schedule a time to have them done?

Thanks!

Sounds very cool! Learning about many cool things that we can do to make our mom/daughter trip special on the Disboards... Interested in any more information that people can share. Do they travel well?

We just had them done while we were down there in May. I would estimate it took her about ten to fifteen minutes from when my boys sat in the chair to get it done to when we paid and walked away.
There are two locations in Magic Kingdom. One in Liberty Square and one off of Main Street. We waited until the end of the night while waiting for the Main Street Electrical Parade. It was first come first served and there were a couple of people in front of us. it moved really quickly. The quality is great and our artist did a fantastic job. We bought the oval frames as well and I want to say the total for the silhouette and frame was $18. The frames traveled well. The frame itself is plastic and I am not sure if it's glass or plexiglass but my guess would be plexi.

How long do you have to sit still? Not sure if it's hand drawn or a photo for reference. Considering doing one of my toddler lol lol.

Anyone remember payment types taken?

It takes like 2 minutes. My 3 year old very active son was able to sit still for it! Yahoo! There is a register to the side that can take cash or cards (or probably magic bands too). We got ours in Liberty Square.

My guy just cut ours while looking at the kids, and it was so fast. Maybe he is the expert or something!

Awesome! I'd like to get one of each child, plus frame.
Not sure what I'd do with the extra of each, maybe gift to grandparents? Does it come in a sleeve or anything?

Also can you do resort delivery with this item?
