Silhouettes in Magic Kingdom?

Awesome! I'd like to get one of each child, plus frame.
Not sure what I'd do with the extra of each, maybe gift to grandparents? Does it come in a sleeve or anything?

Also can you do resort delivery with this item?

Just had ours done last week.

1) I think it's glass. At least I treated it like it was glass.

2) They traveled well. I put mine in my carry on and they both made it home in one piece

3) You cannot resort delivery them since they are one of a kind pieces of art (liability).

4) They make AWESOME grandparent gifts. I want to say it was $8.95 per person in the silhouette, and then the frame was $7 or $8 each. It was somewhere around $34 total for the silhouette of my husband and I, and the 2 frames.

5) It took less than 2 minutes per person for the artist to cut the silhouette. They're used to working with squirming kids. It's actually really impressive.

6) If you get it done in the magic kingdom, try to have the man (taller, older white guy) do it. We had the woman do ours this year (in Liberty Square) and I was not as impressed with her abilities. My husband looks like he has a beak- and he doesn't have a prominent nose at all.

7) I know they take cash and Visa for sure. Not sure what other cards they take.

How long do you have to sit still? Not sure if it's hand drawn or a photo for reference. Considering doing one of my toddler lol lol.

Neither. They use scissors to cut the shape while looking at the subject(s). It's very cool to watch them cut with such accuracy!

It's always taken them longer than "two minutes" for my daughter, but certainly not a long time. It's been several years but I think it was closer to 8-10 minutes.

As I recall, they don't take room charge, just Visa/MC, cash, because they're a 3rd-party contractor. At least they didn't used to take it, because I specifically remember having to dig out a Visa to pay them when we had our kids' done.

Our youngest was about 2 when his was done and the guy was very quick. It took 5 minutes, tops. Another one of the workers there held a book up to show him while the other guy cut the silhouette and that kept his attention long enough.

The second image is usually behind the first. You could probably get both mounted and framed if you want, but if you just get one frame, I'm pretty sure they stack them in there to preserve the extra.

Wow, the price sounds really great. I figured they'd be a lot more. I might have to check into this next time. Rare you could find such a nice souvenir for so cheap (plus it's framed).

We got these done during our honeymoon last month and loved them! Great souvenir for the price and better than a cliche t shirt or something.

this is great! I had NO idea. How big are these? is it extra to have 2 kids in 1 photo?

I was hoping to do it before MVMCP..would that mean I would have to carry it around all night? we cant store it anywhere?

Just got my silhouette done on this trip, it was very well done and I love it! I wish I had known they were allowed to accept tips, as I really liked the work my artist did, and he was very nice, as well as being efficient! :p It took him approximately four minutes to cut mine. I noticed mine had a bit more detail than some I've seen, I think perhaps it was because there was no one waiting.

I just wanted to add I have all 3 of my children in mine. I adore looking at it and such a small price for a great memory. You could always save your extra for the child when they are grown my kids are starting to move out and like having their own photos.

I love our silhouettes from WDW - they are some of my very favorite souvenirs. Just a couple of points to know:

1 - There are 2 places to get them in MK: One just off Main Street, one in Liberty Square. There's also one at DTD.
2 - They don't accept Disney room charge, just cash or Visa/MC.

I particularly like the double portraits. The one of my husband and me was done on our honeymoon; the one of our sons was done over 11 years later.

Love this! :lovestruc

My grandma has one of these from when WDW first opened! It's too bad the new ones don't have the WDW logo at the bottom.

We had one done at MK two years ago at the kiosk on Main Street. We had a lady who was able to incorporate profile pictures ( from an iPhone) into a three head silhouette of my son, daughter in law and their fur baby French Bulldog. It is adorable and a beautiful souvenir.

We got these done a few weeks ago. I love them!

I got one of each of my kids. $8 a piece. Also frames are $8 a piece. And yes, they cut two papers at the same time, so you end up with two of each. I elected not to frame the doubles.

We did not want to carry ours around all day, so the cart held them for us. We just picked them up on our way out.

I used Visa to pay.

It truly only takes about 3 minutes per person.
