I took these pictures of signs in our local Walmart tonight. I just had to share. How many errors can you spot?

OMG! It reads like an eye chart!

Do you think that English might not be the first language for the writer? Some of that phrasing is really unusual.

I really doubt that's the problem given our area. I think the phrasing sounds weird because they didn't bother to use punctuation.

:crazy2:

I believe I got to 14 errors between the two signs.

That is thoroughly depressing, seriously. I could not have left those alone; I'd have corrected them on the spot. That whole "People of Walmart" thing just seems to get truer and truer, eh?

That is an embarrassment! Please tell me after you took the pictures you brought it to their attention.

I'm not one to criticize most things. I don't care if someone doesn't know the difference between affect and effect perfectly, for example. This, however, is HORRIFIC! :scared1: It's no wonder Americans get made fun of.

Whoever makes those signs at YOUR Wal-Mart obviously can't spell well. This doesn't reflect on all of the stores.

I agree, I can't image how busy they are this time of year, a simple mistake, I can't believe anyone would take the time to take pics of it.

A mistake? There are over a dozen mistakes in two sentences. Chimps with crayons would produce more coherent signage.

Not only did someone produce that horrifying mess, someone posted the signs and then however many workers saw the signs and didn't do anything about them. People of Walmart.

If by "a," you mean a baker's dozen, sure. I'd totally take a picture of a sign like that.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to condemn me for taking a picture. It wasn't a simple mistake. It was multiple errors. It's a disgrace.

And yes, I did tell the cashier up front. To her credit, she seemed horrified by it as well. Who knows if she told anybody else about it.

Why is the quote all messed up?

I personally don't mind the picture but a few comments later inferring that all Wal-Marts are messed up like this seem unfair. It's a shame that any individual is actually this illiterate but it could be that English isn't their first language. Or maybe they are just ignorant.

I never suggested that this was indicative of all Walmart stores. Sadly, it doesn't really surprise me for our area. What bothers me most is that obviously other employees saw this and either didn't see the errors or just didn't care.

Not that the signs aren't horrific, but how many other employees do you think are hanging out on the bread aisle? My sister worked at Wal-Mart for years, and never set foot in the grocery section unless she was shopping.

Between the returns today and people wanting to spend gift cards and Christmas cash, I doubt grocery was a high priority.

Why are you assuming that the signs were only put out today?

You didn't indicate that. Others did.

It is a shame that no one noticed or cared. :confused3

You know, I don't. However, they were closed yesterday, and the days prior to that were some of the busiest shopping days of the year. So, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that reorganizing the bread aisle (vendors getting new labels, painting shelves, etc.) is a fairly recent project.

However, even if they've been up before today, I'm still wondering how many Wal-Mart employees you think are hanging out on the bread aisle?

Since they've obviously been busy lately, I'm assuming there have been stockers working there as well as various other employees milling around. Although I don't have a specific figure in mind, it's logical to assume that since I noticed them in my 30 minute trip to Walmart that at least a few employees were aware of the signs.
