Significant Updates Coming to FastPass+ April 10th

will it allow cross-park FP's? And, what about people without smart phones? How will they be able to do it if there are no more kiosks?

More than likely those still without a smart phone will still need to go to a Kiosk. Could also use something like a tablet or an iPod touch if someone doesn't want a smart phone.

Pretty sure I saw this break on another site a few days ago. They've been talking about it on the Rumors and News board all weekend. Glad to see it finally happening. Should make things a whole lot easier now.

1. The first change is guests will no longer need to use a kiosk to make additional Fastpass+ reservations. Guests will now be able to book an additional and even further FP+ reservations through the MyDisneyExperience app.
2. Guest will be also be able to choose between 1-to-3 Fastpass+ reservations in advance. They will no longer be forced to pick 3.
3. Additional Fastpass+ reservations can be made one at time after your initial advance reservations have been used up. Each additional pass can be made yourself through the mobile app or website, and even booked for another park if you plan to park hop.
4. With the new system, guests will be able to choose and attraction and time simultaneously. This should allow for better customization of guests schedules.
   Another cool feature being added is the ability to remove individual guests from a Fastpass+ reservation and the ability to cancel a single reservation instead of all of them
5. With these changes implemented, the Quick Picks Fastpass+ option will be removed.
6. According to WDW News Today, “Guests will see significant changes to the look of the app (and kiosk interface) on April 10th, 2016, but larger changes that will make the app look and function more like the new official Disneyland Resort app are still expected at a later date.”

I've been waiting for this news - a very good modification to the system. Now if only we could choose FPs at different parks, for those who get park hoppers, it would be truly great.

It will be interesting to see if someone only books 1 reservation in a park that has tiered reservations, once they use that one will they be limited to Tier 2 options for their next one or would it allow them to book a Tier 1 option?

The way I read this, once you use FP #1 you can make another on your mobile app for any park. Using the mobile app, you can be anywhere. If you don't have a smart phone, I'm not sure if the kiosk (never having used one) are park dependent. I assume not, but maybe someone else could answer that.

I don't know what category I fall in - when FP+ was being implemented, I was known to be accused of being a Disney Marketing employee because I wasn't critical enough. Recently, I've been in a lot of threads bemoaning shortened hours, cut entertainment and too many up charges. . . . Finding myself on the same "side" with folks who had criticized me in the past and doing plenty of complaint myself.

Whatever that makes me, I'm in this thread saying this is a good and exciting development!

Right now your first three are limited to one park. If I only book one in my first park, does this mean I can book the next 2 for another park, or one at a time only? Or do I still need to use up 3 in the first park?

If you choose to initially only book 1 FP, you forfeit the other 2 FP slots. After using your 1 FP, you'll then be able to book 1 FP for any park.

i'm very pleased about this.
we don't park hop much but when we do it will be great to be able to get a 4th FP+ before even leaving the park we are in.
and even when not park hopping it will be nice to make a 4th and beyond without having to wait in a line.

This is great news! We're going to be there this Friday. I wonder if there's any chance it will work two days early... It would be so nice not having to drag three kids to a kiosk every time you want to grab another fast pass!

Anyone there this week? Is the app working?

We've never found the 4th FP useful, either because the only times available were during our dinner ADR or because it was a ride that didn't need it in the evening. While this does make it easier to justify the price of hoppers, to truly make it worth it we should be able to split up the original 3 to book in advance (if we have purchased hoppers on our reservation). I get that it would probably be a logistical nightmare and also people would complain there are no good SD FPs left though.
