Signature - Which would you choose?

In December, my husband and I are taking my parents and DB and DSIL to Disney for the first time. We will be on the regular dining plan. I want to take them to one signature dining rest., but not sure which one. From the looks of the menu, Narcossee's looks like something we would like, but looking for everyone's opinion. I am completely in charge of the planning and reservations. It will be a table of 8, including two children ages 9 and 6. Also, what time would you suggest? We have been to the Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney Studios and didn't care for it much and Cinderella's Castle, fun but not really wanting to do that again. Thanks in advance for your replies!

Defiantely no ? Cali Grill. Great food, Great Atmosphere, Great Service and the best view of the world topped off with Fireworks. For me it don't get much better than that.

We always enjoy having dinner at California Grill and then watching Wishes from the observation deck after. It's Magical...

I would suggest either Narcoossee's or the California Grill. Make your ADR time so you can catch Wishes. At Narcoossee's you can see Wishes from the restaurant or balcony (just try not to block the view of the people inside). At California Grill you can see Wishes from the restaurant or Viewing Deck. If you end up with an earlier CG reservation you can always return to the Viewing Deck to see Wishes.

I think Cali Grill is the more "Special event" of the two. The food at Cali Grill is a drop "fancier", with Narcoossee's being all about the lobster (or surf and turf). I would rate the food at Cali Grill a drop higher (except the filet, blah, didn't like it last year, avoid), but some of the choices may not be good for picky eaters. I have to say, though, you can't go wrong with either one!!! So if you're limited by what rezzie you can or can't get, don't worry. Or like you said, if you think the menu at Narcoossee's appeals more, go for it.
