My MIL really wants to have a "fancy" meal for just me and her. I have booked the Cape May buffet but I don't think that qualifies as "fancy". Any suggestions on a signature restaurant for us? We both love seafood but I don't want it to be crazy expensive (like V&A's or Cali Grill)... we'll be at Epcot for the day so somewhere that would be easy to get to from Epcot and get back to Epcot before Illuminations would be great! TIA!

Flying Fish!

Delicious fresh seafood (:lovestruc the mussels appetizer). I think you and MIL would be pleased.

It is on the Boardwalk, a leisurely 5-10 minute walk from Epcot's International Gateway.

V&A's is in a different class than the other Signatures. However, if you think CG is "crazy expensive" your going to have a pretty hard time finding a good "fancy" dinner for the 2 of you. We go OOP these days and find that most Signatures are in about the same price range (we are app, entree, share a dessert, have a drink or two/bottle of wine kind of people). If you want good seafood in the EPCOT area, I'm with the PP and highly suggest Flying Fish on the Boardwalk. There is also bluezoo at the Dolphin, which is great as well.

Fly girl's recommendation for Flying Fish is an excellent one for some of the best fish/seafood onsite.

HOWEVER: If you consider Cali Grill too expensive, you will probably also find that the rest of the signatures are outside your budget. Perhaps one of the nicer 1TS restaurants would be more appropriate for you.

Thank you for the suggestion! I checked out the menu online and it looks fairly reasonable (more so than the others I have looked at). I doubt we'll be ordering an appetizer and a dessert.. maybe one or the other and perhaps a drink or two but that would be it. I might even have the rest of the family come with us :) Thanks for the suggestion again!

In Epcot, consider Le Bistro. They have a 3 course dinner for $49. It doesn't include everything on the menus, but the selections are very good.

Does it have to be at dinner time & in the Epcot area? If it were me, I'd choose Afternoon Tea @ Grand Floridian for a nice meal with my MIL. It's both very reasonable, & a great meal for some girly bonding. Just an idea. :)

Happy to help! :)

If it ends up being just you and your MIL I have an idea that works for us. DH and I order 4 appetizers and split them in lieu of entrees. Then we can get dessert! I can't eat appetizer/entree/dessert, just too much food so this works out nicely for us. Just an idea. And we have found that we love FF's appetizers more than the entrees. Don't get me wrong though, the entrees are wonderful! (I think I just like getting an array of food!) ;)
