Signature Restaurants

Which signature restaurants have a dress code policy and which signature restaurants hold your reservation with a credit card (meaning you are charged for a no show if you don't cancel your reservation within their cancellation policy window)?

V&A's is the only one with a strict dress code. However, we feel that eating at a signature in "park attire" would leave us feeling uncomfortable an out of place. We make it a point to dress on the nicer side for all signatures (she'll wear a sundress or a nice shirt and either nice jeans or a skirt and I'll wear either nice shorts or dockers and a button up shirt or nice polo shirt and neither of us wear sneakers). Thats really our personal preference, however you can basically see anything from "park attire" to men wearing sports coats (which is required at V&A's).

V&A's and CG require a CC hold for your ADR (Akershus also requires a CC hold, but is not signature). CRT, dinner shows and Chef's tables like the one at Flying Fish require to be pre-paid in full, but you can get a refund if you cancel within the correct timing. CRT and dinner shows require a CC hold if you are going to use dining plan credits.

I agree with the PP about the dress code policy. No matter if the Signature Restaurant is in a park or not, I still make my family dress appropriately, if t that means we have to go back to the resort to wash up and change during our down time, then so be it. The only time my kids did not dress appropriately for a Signature restaurant is when we were eating at CRT right before MNSSHP and my kids were dressed as Mickey and Minnie . As for the Credit Card question, I believe all Signatures require you to put a CC# down, but just for no shows....the 2 dinner shows and CRT are the only ones that will charge your card right away (not sure about V&As).

For anywhere other than V&A, hats on men, swimwear, torn or ripped clothing, and attire with graphic images/language are the only things that are not permitted. Feel free to wear what you are comfortable with, whether that means dressing up or wearing shorts, a t-shirt and sneakers - you will be fine.

As for the Credit Card question, I believe all Signatures require you to put a CC# down, but just for no shows....the 2 dinner shows and CRT are the only ones that will charge your card right away (not sure about V&As).

The only Signatures that require a CC guarantee are V&A, California Grill, and CRT. The three dinner shows (Hoop de Doo, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, and Spirit of Aloha Luau) also count as 2 credits on the DDP and require a CC guarantee if on the DDP or for you to pay immediately if you are paying OOP. CRT will also charge your CC immediately if you are not on the DDP. The Fantasmic pkg also requires a CC guarantee (with Bown Derby costing 2 DDP credits and Mama Melrose and Hollywood & Vine both costing one DDP credit). Akershus is not a Signature and is only one credit on the DDP, but it too requires a CC guarantee.

As far as the other Signatures none of them require a CC guarantee (Jiko, Artist Point, Citricos, Narcoosee, Yachtsman, Flying Fish, or Le Cellier dinner).

I can't speak much for the other restaurants but CRT was very relaxed on the attire. Lots of families in their park clothes with lots of younger ones in princess gear
We're going to Californian Grill next summer and I'm very worried about the degree of formal wear in it as DBF went both there and to the Flying Fish and said they felt very underdressed.- my family insist that park clothes will be fine!

Just concentrate on what is actually not permitted--almost anything else will be fine, depending on YOUR personal preference.

If we are eating in a park, we are dressed for the park. For the better dining at the resorts we tend to go "resort casual". For a nice meal getting dressed for it is part of the experience.

We ate at Jiko and Bistro de Paris, and saw people in shorts and teeshirts at both places. We did dress up for the occasion.

Dont worry about California Grill. You will be fine. Theyre not that strict! We were there last week, I was also worried about the dress code...but I had nothing to worry about cause I saw ppl there dressed in reg park wear! shorts, sneakers, reg tshirts. A lot of ppl were dressed this way. So I wouldnt worry about it at all.
