Hi All-

I currently have reservations for Le Cellier and The Boathouse for just DH and I for an anniversary night without kids. We have not been to either- is there a dress code? Obviously we'd like to dress up a little but are there any requirements?

Thanks in advance!!

Yes, there are requirements.

Men may wear khakis, slacks, jeans or dress shorts and collared shirts. Sport coats are optional.

Women may wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses, jeans or dress shorts.

Not permitted are tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.

We dressed up for our signature meals fiance in a dress and I wore dress pants shirt and my mickey tie

But we did see people in all sorts of attire

We always observe the code but have always seen folks wearing just about everything that's supposedly "taboo" . Never seen anyone turned away.

Thanks for all of the replies!! Just wanted to make sure we will be appropriately dressed!

The most common violation we've witnessed are men in tank tops and of course, the ubiquitous baseball caps.

We always try to dress nicely. I wear a sundress even to the parks most often when it's warm, and always have a cardigan (my DD always has either a sweater or hoodie - she's a tomboy so not so "dressy" any longer).

In signature places, you will see a broad spectrum of fashion. It's really what you're comfortable with! I would always have my kids dress nicely. I didn't, however, see many if any sportcoats on men. I'm sure, though, if a man wears one, he looks spiffy and I'd love it! My husband dresses for work, so it's difficult for me to get him to dress for vacation!

I'd say, if you want to dress totally up, go for it! You will feel lovely. If you want to dress down a bit, you will not be frowned upon.

Per the Boathouse website...

"The ambiance of the restaurant is somewhat casual. There is no dress code, and there are a wide variety of guests enjoying the restaurant. It is not library quiet, nor is it Cosmic Ray's loud. We found the ambiance to be perfectly fitting of its intended audience - and is particularly ideal for families looking for a special dining experience."

no dress code.

I think the dress code is more for signature dining at the resorts and possibly some Disney Springs restaurants rather than the signatures at the parks. If you look at the pages for the individual signature restaurants on WDW's website, some mention the dress code and others don't. At Le Cellier, I think you will see mostly theme park attire. At the Boathouse, there will probably be a wider range of attire. Enjoy your anniversary dinner!

I agree that at Le Cellier you are in a theme park, and you'll see just about anything. If you want to spruce up for a meal, by all means go for it! :)

I have only ever worn jeans and tshirts to signatures, and have never had a problem. I do see other people dress up for resort dinners, but we don't pack dress clothes when we go. We're on vacation!
