Sign Language Interpreters

Sign Language Interpreters at WDW are top quality. For the last week I enjoyed their services. If you have need for an interpreter contact WDW 2 weeks or more before your trip and get the schedule for interpreting in the parks. You can also set up an interpreter for backstage tours and talks such as the Pin Talk by Scoop in the MK.
You can also pick up a schedule for the interpreting at any guest services counter.
Parks are interpreted on a rotating basis.

MK Mon and Thurs
EPCOT Tues and Fri
MGM Sun and Wed
AK Sat

Is Sign Language Iterpretation available for non North American guests on a regular basis?

I understand we use a different system of signing in Europe.

Andrew you would need to speak with Mark Jones who coordinates the interpreter services. The shows are done on a schedule in American Sign Langauge. I don't know if interpreters are available to interpret into the various different SL around the world. Europe btw has many different Sign Languages. As many as countries I would suspect. I met a castmember in Norway last sumer who noticed I was signing who told me she was studying to be an interpreter in her country and had taken the opportunity to learn some ASL here. I know there is British Sign Language, French Sign Language, German SL, Spanish SL. Russian SL, and many more. Funny thing is the Deaf often pick up on the SL of the country they are in quite quickly even though they are not universal. Plus I also notice that the interpreters use a lot of gestural signs, body language and facial expression to make things clear. In fact, one interpreter has the best facial expression I have eveer seen outside a deaf person.
