Sigh... No-one is coming to our wedding

Just 4 guests? Your describing my dream wedding! :) We are inviting our immediate fam, and if they all back out, it will def make it more stress free! Just the thought of all trh travel plans and getting people places on time ( my in laws are late for everything, all of them)

You will be able to relax, be yourself and just enjoy instead of having to "entertain" and be a hostess. I promise it will be wonderful!

I just read you weren't thinking a DP is worth it for four guests? When we were planning an escape we were TOTALLY doing a dessert party with 4 guests (just us and kids)! DO IT!! It will be awesome! It's super affordable too- I think it was like 320 bucks, in Japan! You can have some beautiful fireworks photos, and yummy desserts... and you can wear your dress! IMHO it's one of the best reasons to have a disney wedding! Have fun with it- do whatever you would want for YOU, that's the beauty of it, no worries about guests! :)

Aww girl, sorry to hear about the drama, but it's good you're finding a silver lining. DF and I will be there (we're getting married the day before at SBP!) if you want two more (although we'll have to negotiate the no cake rule ;) )

I should be there that day too! My MK shoot is in the morning. I guess I should take the dress off before I show up! :lmao:

I'm sorry that you are having problems. It will still be a beautiful, wonderful day. It will be special to share it with just your closest family!

I know you feel sad because I do too. I offered to pitch in for travel expenses for my family but it did not help. It looks so far like it will just be DF, my son, and myself. I have thought of changing my plans and doing something close to home but I know that I will just never be able to please everybody and I really just want my son, DF, and me... to be in our Disney bliss

I tell myself that I am blessed to be marrying my best friend. I have my little man that gives my life purpose. I have my health. I will be making some of the best memories life has to offer. Anything over that is just extra goodness.

I am sure the same goes for you.

Let me start by saying stupid credit crunch!

You will have an amazing time with the four of you, you are having a DISNEY WEDDING!

Thanks guys :grouphug:

It's been a really great day - we've talked about what we would like to do if there are only 4 of us and the only thing that is different is the DP.

We are HUGE dessert-fiends but Mom and Dad aren't so I don't think we would do that, but maybe an Illuminations cruise instead. They went to epcot years and years ago but didn't see the fireworks as they had to leave early so this would be great.

It will also (hopefully) be easier to book ADR's for 4 rather than 9, so there is another positive.

We are now thinking of going to Yachtsmans Steakhouse for our meal then onto the cruise rather than Le Cellier. The plan was for everyone to get changed at our villas at the Boardwalk then go into epcot and meet a little later at Le Cellier.

This way I can keep my dress on too!!

Thanks guys :grouphug:

:goodvibes Yeah! For keeping the dress on!!! :lmao: Your plans for an Illuminations cruise is awesome! I'm really glad things are working out!

See?! It's all working out for you . . . :cool2:

Those are fantastic ideas! I really like Le Cellier (cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread - YUM!), but in my opinion, Yachtsman Steakhouse is much, much nicer. We had our first dinner as an engaged couple at Yachtsman, and plan to have dinner there on the night before our wedding - the 7th.

And if you can work it out to where you can keep your wedding gown on for the whole day I think it will seem much more special for you.

For the record, we started out planning an Escape wedding thinking it would be kind of like an elopement. Then everyone started saying they want to come - so now we're planning a Wishes wedding with a "potential" of around 75 guests, but with 25 or so "likely to attend". Anyway, it doesn't really matter to us whether 10 or 40 people show up. We're just going to adjust our menu accordingly. If it's 40, then we'll pay around $1,000 - $1,500 more than the Wishes minimum and have a three course meal with wedding cake for dessert. If 10 guests show up, then we'll pay the Wishes minimum for a 12 course meal and a 4 hour open bar with Signature booze. That's what I call "win-win"! :woohoo:

Sorry you are having to change your plans, but that would be my dream, just me DF and my parents it would be so much easier that way!

I'm sure it'll be magical and its sounds like you've not got even more guests than before, I don't fly in till the 25th though so I won't make it.

I'm willing to take a field trip down to FL for a wedding - even with no cake!! :lmao:Count me in with Tracy, Andreah and Jennifer!!!

I'm glad things are coming together for you even if it's just you 4! :goodvibes

You can show up with bells on or off - as long as you're not in a white dress! :lmao:

Another silver lining is that my sister-in-law drinks like a fish so now our wedding costs will be halved and she won't embarrass herself or anyone else! Imagine a mouth that runs at least twice as fast as the brain, with little intelligence and too much alcohol.

Redundant means no job. Lots of that going on unfortunately...:sad2:

Thanks guys, I'm actually quite looking forward to none of our guests going! Just our luck they will now and I'll be on here again, moaning about that :rotfl2:

You guys will have a beautiful time. The smaller the better, and like you had said, no drama and a smaller bill! LOL And, if they do decide that they want to go, just tell them that you re arranged your plans for the four of you, and that you can not change anything back..........thats what I would do, but am usually known for my rough honesty..LOL
