Sigg Thermos

I am writing from NY. My Mom bought my little daughter a Sigg thermos. She thought is would be great for her to take to WDW florida. She told me to put the thermos in ice and put cold water and ice cubes in it and that the water should stay cold for a long time while we are in the parks? I have my doubts as she tells me the bottle is aluminum?? Anyone have any stories about these bottles as my Mom tells me they are used a lot in Europe and the UK? Thank you!

I believe thermos flasks work in two ways, either fill it up with hot water first and then put a hot liquid in it or put ice / iced water inside it first to make it cold and then put a cold liquid in it.

When we do the hot flask it stays hot for about 8 hours so in theory should have the same effect for the cold.

We use thermos flasks for all our trips in the car and gets us though alot of tough spots and tiring journeys!

Yes, a thermos flask should work both ways ie keeping hot liquids hot and cold liquid cool.

To be honest we freeze bottles of water and take them to the parks and as they melt throughout the day you have cold water all day! (we do still have a stroller to help carry the weight though).

Are the Sigg bottles vacuum flasks? The ones I've seen look just like sports bottles.
