Sides for kielbasa??

What do you serve with kielbasa at your house? We usually have pierogies, but I don't have any right now & don't feel well enough to make them from scratch.

We're covered for veggies - either cooked broccoli or carrots...or just green salads. But I don't have an idea for a starch. I only have a couple SMALL potatoes - not enough to do mashed - so I'm looking for ideas.

You make pierogies from scratch? I attempted my MIL's recipe once and threw it in the garbage. Just couldn't get it right.

You can boil up the potatoes you have , cool them and make homefries. If you have elbow macaroni you can always make mac and cheese.

It's been a while since I've made them, but my best friend in high school was of Russian descent. Her mother made the best pierogies! She'd made some with mashed potatoes & cheese, some with cabbage and several other varieties I can't remember any more. (What a lot of work!!) She showed me how to do them, but they never come out the same as hers. That's why I usually just do Mrs. T's - never mind I don't really enjoy doing them. Too much work!

I usually do home fries with onion and peppers and dash of pepreca (sp) the red spice.

Or you could do baked beans

We do Stouffers mac and cheese and then Stouffers baked apples and corn bread.

Our new thing is to cut up the kielbasa and mix it up with gemelli pasta with sundried tomatoes and a sundried tomato alfredo sauce - I can't remember the brand.

What about a German potato salad served warm? Usually, I slice and brown my kielbasa, then stir it into a bowl of the canned German potato salad and microwave it until the potato salad is warmed through! Yummy!!
