Can you substitute side dishes at TS? Like if I want mashed potatoes instead of fries, or something?

I hope so. We are dining at Jiko and DH and DS hate mac n cheese. And DD9 will not eat potatoes or vegetables only fires or mac n cheese.

we asked for and got substitutions on the kids meals a couple times. DD5 had the roasted chicken legs at Whispering Canyon but won't eat mashed potatoes. they subbed buttered pasta at our request. Same thing for DD7 at Akershus - she got the grilled chicken with buttered pasta instead of mashed potatoes.

DH and I did not ask for any changes, but after reading how the chefs go above and beyond to accomodate special diet requests and allergies, I can't imagine they would even flinch at subbing one side for another.

When we were at Flying Fish a few weeks ago, I ask about a substitution. Our server said if it is on the menu, you can have it. He then went on to suggest what would be tasty with the dish I was ordering.

Very few restaurants have a problem with this.

The chefs at Disney's full-service restaurants are very accomodating to special requests, even for things that aren't on the menu, so surely anything on the menu is open game.

Hi Beck... usually you could substitute your sides... just ask your waiter and they usually will be happy to... if something is indication on the menu no substitutes they you cant!
