My baby is 9 months old. She has slept with me since day one. I want to get something like a cosleeper for her to sleep in. The co sleepers are for small babies. She still wakes often at night to nurse,I think she would sleep a little longer is
F she weren't so close to me. I don't want a crib. Is there something like this???

What we did was an improvised co-sleeper--we used one of those big plastic storage tubs with a lid, put a crib mattress on top, lined it up against the wall and then pushed our bed right next to it, so that the crib mattress was wedged tight between our bed and the wall. It worked perfectly for 5 years and 2 nursing/co-sleeping kids, 1 after the other.
You may get more responses on a parenting board, especially one that's supportive of attachment parenting and breastfeeding.

I used a co sleeper with DS12 until he was about 2. It worked really well for us. He could reach out and touch me all crawl over to me when he wanted cuddling, but also had his own "space" so we weren't bumping into him.

"Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper" is what you're looking for, I think.
(The regular size ones are quite big.)

We bought one with the birth of our first, but he preferred to stay in bed with us and so we never used it as much as we thought. Even now that we have 4 kids we never used it much for co-sleeping--they all stayed in our bed until the next baby came along. It was a good place for the baby to nap and to set them in to play (safe from the siblings) while I took a shower.

Don't let me scare you away from the co-sleepers. Many people do love them and I think they're great compared to cribs (which of course we never used either.)

Edit:For some reason I read 9 weeks. Doh!
What about a convertible crib? One where you can take one side off? You can push it next to the bed.

when mine were little I kept a crib with one side down right next to my side of the bed, they either slept in there,so I could pat them if needed,or crawled in with us if they wanted(they never slept anywhere they couldn't get out of....)

I thought the drop side cribs were not being made any longer. That would work though!

This is what we did when our youngest was still night-waking @ 2 yrs of age. It worked well. He finally decided to sleep all night at 3. There is a reason he's our youngest ;). --Katie

I'm very proud of these answers by my co-Disers. I was afraid when I read this that she would already be blasted for cosleeping! Many people don't answer the question asked. She is not asking opinions or others' beliefs, she is asking for advice on something she's already chosen to do. End of story.

So, my thought, too, was the convertible-type crib but the one that is a crib, then a toddler bed, then converts to a full-size double bed. The toddler bed on these only has 3 sides, anyway, so it could be butted-up to your bed. (Depends on the height of your bed, too, so think about that.)
