Side by Side Strollers in Shops at DW

I have a 5 and almost 3 year old going with to DW. I know I am going to need a double stroller or 2 single ones. I am debating on buying some smaller ones, renting from Disney or renting from Baby's Best Friend and having them delivered. I am wondering if the Disney Strollers and and Side by Side strollers fit into the Disney Shops and Restaurants. I think the kids would like that better but not sure how easy they are to get into places. Any input on this would be great. Thanks.

Well, I am not a double stroller expert, but I have done my fair share of shopping in the World and elsewhere! I would strongly recommend against the double wide. The shop aisles are narrow, as are many other locations where you'll want to use it. I think you'll get very frustrated.

Also, now here I feel that I am going to get flamed but good, I think that they are kind of obstrusive for other people around you. No matter what you do, you are blocking up twice as much space as a regular stroller would take, you impede other people from moving past you, and more often than not, you will be in someone else's way when you try to turn the darned thing around. They just are not very maneuverable. When I see one of those coming, I run like the wind, because I have been run over more often by the double wides than any other child moving conveyance I've ever seen.

Go for the back-to-back or 2 small ones if you've got two stroller pushers with you.

I've taken a side by side and I never had any problems. The aisles are plenty wide for a double and I don't think they impede on anyone if the person with the stroller is responsible and courteous to other people.

Standard aisle or doorway width for wheelchair use is 36 inches, so as long as your stroller is not any wider than that, it should not be much problem in the main aisles. But, when we are in shops with DD in her narrow adult wheelchair, there are occasional side aisles where the wheelchair would be a real snug fit and we sometimes end up in dead ends where there is no room to turn around. I don't think a back to front stroller would be any easier becasue they are narrower, but so long.

If you have 2 stroller pushers, you still might want to think about single strollers since with a 3 and a 5 year old, you may find that you need or want to split up at times (like if the 3 year old needs a nap/rest and the 5 yr old wants to keep going or the older child is big enough to go on many rides that the younger one is not able to).

We always bring our double side-by-side umbrella stroller to WDW for our DD's and have NEVER had any problem whatsoever anywhere...

I've never been in anyone's way, I've been able to manuver it through all doors and walkways etc...

I do, however, sometimes leave the stroller outside and go in to shop without it but not always. I've brought it into World of Disney many times with NO problems at all.

I would not enjoy having two strollers at WDW and my DH has told me he prefers one stroller to push as he thinks that way we can take turns and one parent will be free to leave to get Fastpass or the bathroom or whatever while the other parent can push the one stroller.

Good luck deciding!

I'm going in August with a 4yr old and 1 yr old and just bought a Kolcraft double wide that is only 31 inches wide, small enough to go through a single door and many isles. It's not the sturdiest of strollers but for $60 it's a very cheap option. I got it at Baby'R Us. Good luck

Have you thought about taking 2 single strollers and buying one of those things that joins the handles together? That might be your best bet. You could push them as one stroller when you needed to and still be able to split up.

There's no reason to worry that the stroller takes up twice as much space as a single stroller. 2 kids always take up more space than one.

We will be in WDW in August with 3 dds ages 7, 2 & 4mos and I just purchased a Combi Twin Savvy and it is awesome. It fits thru standard doorways and it is much easier to handle than my Graco Duolite which I find extremely large, long and difficult to see around. We also decided we only wanted to take one stroller so one of us could always be free to focus on our 7 yr old.
For anyone with an infant and a toddler the Combi is great, each side is well padded and reclines. I got a great price on a brand new 2003 model on Ebay. :D

I saw the Combi too and I thought it was by far the best double stoller, but it was $350 and I figure my 4year old is almost out of using a stroller and I only needed one for the next 10 months or so. That's why I only spend $60 on a Kolcraft. Can I ask how much you got it for on EBAY?

I liked the Kolcraft too, but since mine will be in the stroller for awhile I figured we would get our money's worth. On Ebay I got the Combi for $225. I was very happy because that was about a $100 dollars less than I saw it anywhere else.
