We are planning a cross country/WDW trip for next year. There will be 8 of us total and we would like to get campsites next to each other. We will have a pop up and a very large tent (17x19). I have been looking at sites and have decided for the size of our tent the 1500 loop would be the best for us. Could we get side by side or even sites that are across from each other? Would we be better off if we put both sites under 1 name?

Hi!

Unfortunately they will not guarantee sites side by side or even a particular loop.

BUT, we have found that the people at FW are VERY accomodating. They will do their best to put you in your requested loop and keep you close enough together.

I would suggest that both parties making reservations request the loop that you want so that it's on your reservation. Also, they will cross reference reservations so that when they are assigning campsites they keep in mind you're with another party.

Good luck and have a wonderful time!

I would get my reservations and requests in asap. I know it normally is a "first come first serve" basis. I think if you told them it is for a family, they are more likely to accomodate you. I have made cabin reservations and requests for my sister. The sites were not side by side, but only a cabin apart. :D

We always have at least 2 sites on one reservation, and have always gotten side by side sites. We normally request a particular loop (in our case loop 1400) and adjoining sites. They will note the request and tell you it's not guaranteed, but we've never had a problem. (Although I know there's a first time for everything:eek: ) Our last trip in Feb. we had requested 3 sites together, (on 2 separate reservations, cross-referenced) and had 2 sites side by side, and one directly across, and on "our" loop. As has been said, FW tries to be very accomodating! :sunny:

What kind of Magical Gathering would it be if they wont accomidate side by side? :)

I used to be an RA at FW, so I will tell you what they do. We go thru the list of arrivals about 2-3 days in advance. We look specifically in the comment section of each resv. You look for mulitple sites, disabled guest, request, large equip and groups. Then we try to pre assign as much of that list as possible. If it comes down to two then we go by the age of the reservation. They really do try to accommodate as many request as they can. Make sure you have reserved a partial hookup site if you are requesting 1500. The only other partial loop is 2000.

So make sure your request is noted on your resv and you might want to fax the FD a few days before you arrive.

Book a Magical Gatherings package.
We had 2 cabin next to each other.
They are good about keeping Magical Gatherings together.
