We are off to WDW In June, And the only thing i get really stressed out with is the sickness i occur as soon as we take off.
Last year i was very bad on the way home, infact it scared DD something rotten! she never saw me as i was in the toilet for hours on end.
IS there anything i can take or use to prevent this?
I am going to see my DR nearer to the time, But i really need to do something about it.

Landing is when it is worser, but overall it is as soon as we take off, any ideas?

Thanx :)

P,s I dont mind the bad flight as its all worth it :) But i think DD wants to see abit more of me on the flight ;)

Is it just sickness or are you nervous aswell?

If it is travel sickness then a travel sickness antihistamine like stugeron can be helpful
Hope this helps
Chris

I am really bad a traveling either by car, aeroplane or anything else. Plus I get really nervous before I fly. I always wear travel bands and have done for about 20 years now and would recommend them to anyone. I am never sick when I have them on.
I hope this helps.

Hi Beth

My DD8 suffers badly from 'landing sickness'

I posted a thread in Aug '03 for advice and suggestions and received a lot of info etc.

I eventually decided to try a watch type thing which emits pulses and sends a signal to the nausea part of the brain - IT WORKED!!!!

He's now travelled on 2 flights WITHOUT being sick on landing.

The device is called RELIEFBAND -it is about £90-£100 in the UK really expensive but very much cheaper in US. It has been the best money I've spent in a long time - other than going to Florida of course. I would highly recommend this product - no drugs etc, but the difference in the price between UK and US is quite a lot - not sure if it can maybe be bought online from US - especially with the $ rate being so good just now.

If you do a search for 'landing sickness' you will see all the answers etc that I received under my thread - RUSHBURY.

Hope you find something that works.

Helen

..another vote for prescription antihistimines - DS was bad for a couple of years, but fine after the doc prescribed for him. Go to your GP asap and beg for help!

The wristband sounds as though it's worth trying. Assuming your sickness is related to nerves (I think I remember you posting some time back), your GP will probably prescribe a beta-blocker. Mine prescribes Diazepam for my anxiety, but I remember him questionning me on my symptons and explaining the options - beta blockers were the suggestion for physical sickness.

I also use the Relief Band watch!!

I really would not travel without it now! I bought mine on line from US!

Helen,

I recommended the watch to you I am so glad it works for you too.

I always take 'Kwells' and they definitely stop that awful feeling of motion sickness. The disadvantage is that they make you have a dry mouth and you feel a bit drowsy - but that's OK on a plane!

I have a huge problem with this too. Just walking into an airport now makes me quesy.

I know this is going to sound nutty, but I buy a big bag of bubble gum, and I chomp down for the entire flight. I know, it's kinda gross, but it works for me.
