I was okay with Stitch, not a huge fan and didn't just hate him/it BEFORE going to the World last week, but I think now I am really sick and tired of him. LOL They are shoving Stitch down your throat! Everywhere, everything is Stitch! Stitch on the wake up calls, Stitch plastered on the monorails, more Stitch toys than any other character - I daresay even Mickey! - in the gift shops. Ok, just had to get that off my chest. LOL

I love Stitch, but I do agree with you on one thing. Disney needs more of EVERY character... not just everything Stitch. We need variety. lol. :wave2:

I'm glad you weren't offended at my post...I know there are lots of people out there who DO like Stitch! You should be in Stitch-heaven when you go to WDW in November, he's everywhere! It got so bad that members of my family would groan when yet another Stitch was sighted (on the monorail, for example). And when we saw the REAL Stitch at MGM....by that time we were thoroughly sick of WDW trying to shove him down our throats and no one even wanted to take a picture with him.

We could not found stitch to get our picture taken with him. We were on the hunt for him. Finally found him right across from the ride. :rotfl: We liked the ride. We rode it twice. Never had it in me to do Alien Encounter.
We also saw him our last day in AK. I have to say whoever was him that day (Sept 29th) want above his job a with a paralyzed child.
It brought tears to my eyes to see him so tender with the child. I had never seen a character more gently and knowing what to do!

Funny you should mention this...

I've got to tell you that the absolute WORST was .......

Stitch on my ''wake up call" in the A.M. at the BWV!! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

  !!!!!!Horrible!!!!!!!!!

Couldn't beleive it!! :sad2:

In the past @ other resorts..used to be..cute Mickey, Minnie or Goofy..softly and happily talking in your half awake ear...
.....now... this "thing" is "screaming" at you!!

So...do you think that the "humans" who decided to put Stitches recording as a "wake up call" have him on "THIER" home phones too??? :scratchin :scratchin

I'm also sick of Stitch and thought Stitch's adventure was the worst thing I wasted time on.

Yeah I agree. My family was a little sick of everything Stitch. He is cute and I know a lot of people love him, but I agree that it would be nice to see other characters too. I went into the Merchant of Venus at MK and joked to my husband it should be called the Merchant of Stitch. Way too much stitch stuff. It might backfire because people might get sick of him.

I am a huge stitch fan. I can understand everyone getting upset with all the stitch stuff. However to play devils advocate... I dont care for the princesses so should we eliminate everything about the princesses because I dislike them? I think not. Do I go on the boards and complain about all the princess stuff and how its being over done. No. So I think every one should just lighten up about all the stitch stuff. If you dont like it ignore it. If you dont like the ride dont go on it. Thats what I do with the princess stuff. As for the wake up calls I do think that there should be a way to choose who calls so that no one is dissapointed (i happenned to like the stitch wake up call)

I love stitch but even I feel its too much,
Years ago I was a big fan of elmo, before the whole tickle me craze, after that I got tired of him.

I don't like him anyway so I've been kind of worried about Stitch overload when we're there. I think I'm going to use my travel alarm for wake up calls because hearing him first thing in the morning definitely won't get my day started with a Disney attittude. LOL

We were there last November for Stitches opening, and that was fine seeing him around, but last week he was everywhere!!! He was doing greeting across from his ride with about a 3min wait, meanwhile mickey & minnie was a good :30min + wait. I say scale back on stitch, and bring back more of the mouse!! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Hopefully, some of the Disney marketing geniuses will take a look at some of the complaints and stop the practice of concentrating all of their efforts on one movie or character. I would think that with the Cinderella Special Edition DVD release coming soon that more attention would be paid to that story as well, but I guess no such luck. Remenber 2-3 years ago? You couldn't walk 2 feet in WDW before running into Pooh related merchandise. They've got to stop overdoing it.

I love Stitch and the wake-up call was hilarious. I hope it's still being used in December :)

Different strokes for different folks :)

John, with all due respect, the Disney Princesses, especially Cinderella, Snow White, and Sleeping Beauty are nearly as high up there on the Disney pedestal as the Mouse himself. Snow White being introduced in 1937, Cinderella in 1950, and Sleeping Beauty in 1959 - they are LONGTIME ICONS of Disney. Lilo and Stitch, on the other hand, ONLY CAME OUT THREE YEARS AGO! And was not a very successful movie anyway, as Disney movies go. I don't even see how you can possibly compare the two.

I DO avoid things that I don't care for....the problem is, Stitch at WDW is impossible to avoid! :earboy2:

I love the movie. I watch it constantly with my kids. But, gosh, the ride was horrid and the plush toys are not as cute as the movie :)

It's Disney's way of competing with other "disgusting" characters that kids like these days.

We all love Stitch, I've never heard the wake-up call before and I hope to hear in December too. But I do agree about the ride being nothing special, but apart from that, we love the films, character and toys

i am not a fan of stitch but i know there are many out there who are. on our recent trip i couldnt believe just how much stitch was around. it was everywhere, so much that i was getting sick of it. when i went into MK after a while i felt i was in stitch's kingdom and instead of wishes i was going to see stitches.

i know that there was a marketing push to help promote the sitich ride but i think that they went a bit overboard.

I think Stitch is the best Disney character introduced since the 80's...no namby-pamby lightweight, he's got style & 'tude.

I collect Disneyana, love the classics; including Snow White, Peter Pan & Pooh. But prefer more interesting/complex characters (including the villians). Princess' aren't my cup of tea (nor, my predominately male household); but that first sight of the castle:cloud9: .

In February, we only spied Stitch once @ MGM & the balloon was already in place. Must have kept missing him near the ride. I was surprised by the wake-up call change, sure did the job though!

Haven't seen him @ any yet, anyone know if Stitch appears @ character meals?

My boys love Stitch. My DH loves Stitch. My 17 year-old brother loves Stitch. They had to take turns answering the wake up calls. My DH talks about how great it is that there is so much Stitch in the parks.
This last trip I took my step-mom for her first time. After every ride, show, ect..., she would tell me how great it was. After Stich she said " that was so stupid ". I think Stitch must be a boy thing. :earboy2:
