So, my son has been fighting a sinus infection since Halloween and yesterday he spiked a fever - 101. I rushed him in to the doctor but she couldn't find a thing wrong with him. She said to stop our second round of antibiotics that were to end Friday b/c that could spike a fever with a cold. Seriously, he just feels crummy and there are no symptoms. We're still going, but I need some serious "pixie dust" so that he can enjoy this trip (his bday is in two weeks and this is his gift) and that the rest of us don't get it.

Any advice, otherwise, is greatly appreciated too.

Sounds like a virus - it's that time of year! A fever of 101 in a child is considered a low fever, so maybe cut out the tylenol, and hope the fever fights the infection? Lots of rest? Besides that, I can't think of anything else to push a virus through faster. Hope it's a quicky!

Lots of feel better wishes for your little guy!!
We leave tomorrow, and of course, both dd's (1 & 3) are starting with the runny nose and coughing...
Guess I'm one up on last years trip though... THey both had ear infections and were on antibiotics.

Hope you guys have a great trip! Our flight leaves tomorrow from Norfolk @ 5:00 pm. Can't wait!!

Maybe the change in climate (if you are traveling from up north) will help...or maybe just being @ WDW...it may at least take him mind off how crummy he fells :sad2:

Wishing you the best on getting over the bug...it's hard to keep everyone healthy right now. We have just finished our meds here too. Hoping when we get there it will make it all better! :wizard: I think this guy has the "magic potion" in his wand.

Did you try the Tylenol/Motrin combo with him? It is a great combo and works well with alot of children. May help him feel better. Everytime my kids are sick I use it and about an hour later I wish I would not have as they are jumping around all over the place!
Have a great time! We leave tomorrow too (just herd son cough!)>

Have you tried a saline nasal spray? I've used Simply Saline. It sounds wierd, but if you follow the directions for flushing your sinuses it helps. You'll have a runny nose for a day or so, but it gets everything out. Hope he feels better fast and you your family has a great vacation.

Hes a year old right? I agree with the previous poster that said use the saline. For that age it really does the trick with flushing his sinuses. I agree his fever is low grade and the Motrin/Tylenol should do the trick failry quickly. It is that time of year for all of the babies  Njoy your trip, he will do fine.
