We arrived on Sat and my husband now has the chest cold that I has since Thanksgiving for a few days. If we decide to leave early will Disney refund the days we will not be there. We were on a room only reservation.

By leaving early and canceling the tour we have scheduled , we would save about 600.00.

Very irritated because a girl at work came to work early last week with the same thing and gave it to 4 people in our office. People should stay home from work if they are sick...

Good question.

Not sure a cold is an illness severe enough to cancel a Disney vacation though.

You can probably get the room refunded for nights you didn't use, you will probably be out of luck with any tickets that your purchased. The tour, well, that depends on the tour, it might be non-refundable. All you can do is go to the Guest Services and ask. They could answer the question better than we can.

And as far as people should stay home from work if they are sick...if I stayed home from work every single day that I had a cold, I wouldn't have to worry about having a job to call in sick to. Most people don't get THAT many sick days that a simple cold is enough reason to not go to work.

Wow yet people take trips when they are sick. For the best answer you need to talk to the front desk.

Yeah, I apply the same rule to myself that the schools use--fever or vomiting then no work for 24 hours. I've never missed a day. If I called in sick if I had a cold, I wouldn't have a job.

Would an alternative be to see a doctor. My SIL gotnsick while at Disney ( she thinks she got it on the plane) and the front desk referee her to a walk in clinic that was not very far from the resort. She said they gave her a few shots and in a matter of hours she was feeling much better.

Trip Insurance? If so, trip interruption would kick in!

We use wipes and hand sanitizer like crazy at work. The reality is, you are contagious before you start feeling ill, and contagious after you feel well enough to come back. Being vigilant about hand washing and wiping down shared equipment is going to do more to keep you well than someone calling in sick with a cold.

if you leave early how you getting home?

I'm not sure I would go home from vacation for a cold. Usually a little extra sleep for a day and some cold meds makes me feel ok.

My husband got the flu while we were at Disney. He went to the clinic, they gave hm Tamaflu. We didn't end our vacation, we just had to adjust it. I got the chicken pox while we were on a ski trip, again we just had to adjust. My DD17 has gotten very ill the last two trips to Disney, again a trip to the clinic. Like someone else said, talk to the front desk, but I wouldn't count on a refund.
