There were 5 of us staying at two different on site locations. The stomach bug hit and it hit big. I was sick in bed for three out of the 5 days there. Others were sick for two days. We were there from 10/28 to 11/2. Anyone else there during that time frame? Did you get sick or were you able to stay healthy?

DW and I got sick while at AKV in early September. I needed antibiotics when I got home. I hope that you are feeling better.

My goodness... that is aweful! I am sorry to here.

We are paranoid I guess, and keep a few of the small waterless hand sanitizers on our pouch and use them throughout the day!

We use the santizers or wipes as well. And drink plenty of water. I guess we've been fortunate, we've only had one major illness at Disney over the years.

I'm sorry to hear that. We were at VWL from 10/26 through 11/2, no illnesses reported. A total of 10 in our "group."

That really stinks! We all came down with the flu a day after coming home from Disney this last time. The only one who didn't get it was my DH who had the flu shot!

We were there in that approximate time frame and managed to avoid the "bug". In dozens of trips, we've never been sick nor do we take preventative measures against it either. I think it's just luck that determines whether one gets "hit" or not. Still, it certainly can put a damper on a Disney vacation when the "bug" strikes. Hope your next trip is awesome!

We all ended up with horrid colds - down a few weeks before you - my daughter had one right before we left, I got it on the trip, and my husband got it the day we came back. Colds are better than the stomach bug.

Spoke with my daughter who flew down Thursday and had a headache that day. Yesterday they played a round of golf, sat by the pool and went to PI. As they were leaving the dance club at PI she slipped on a wet floor, fell and hit her head hard enough to bleed. She said she slept okay but has thrown up and had the runs today so didn't know if she has a concussion or the stomach bug. She was also dizzy so it sounds like some of each plus no food today to me. She was supposed to be at the golf tournament today and had the Ruth Chris ticket for special viewing and eating but spent the day in the room. Hopefully tomorrow will be better as they have tickets for the bucs game in Tampa. I think that if it is a stomach bug she was probably coming down with it before they left. They are at SSR . She did say that if she had to be sick she was glad she was there and not home here where the weather is so wet and cold.

I was at BWV Oct 26-Nov2. I got something. Had a scratchy throat 1 day, then the next evening had runny eyes, etc. Felt pretty bad. Don't know if it was allergies, or I picked something up down there.

Every trip to Disney has resulted in one of my DD's visiting the Doctors. The last trip my DD5 started feeling sick on NYE. In fact she threw up in the Land Pavillion. It took us about an hour to get out of the park and then she threw up all the way back to the Dolphin hotel. We took her to the Doctors the next day when she wouldn't stop being sick. The Doctor said she had "slap cheek" and must have caught it in the parks. Well by the Tues she was still being sick so we took her to Celebration hospital. They put a drip on and gave her anti sickness medicine. Then did some very expensive tests, $8000 was the total bill!! We had to push our insurance company to agree to pay it as we were not allowed to leave until they had something in writing. We were due to fly home on the Thursday and luckily she was well enougth to fly.

We are just crossing fingers that it doesn't happen this holiday. I think we have been very unlucky to get one DD sick every holiday.

I think it's very hard to change expensive plans....so when someone gets a cold,or a bug, they still drag themselves to the parks,etc....well,the germs just spread from there,it happens all the time...... I like my purell too,but stuff just happens, airplanes, bus rides, handles on doors, backs of chairs.....;)

Sorry this happened and hoping you're feeling better!

I'm a huge fan of airborne.
We take it before the plane ride, when we get there and the same
on the ride home. We also use antibacterial wipes too.

We use tons of antibacterial and take airborne as well. Coming down with an illness at WDW is one of the things we fear. It hasn't happened to us yet and I hope it never does. So sorry that you got "hit" with the bug

We are leaving in 4 days....last trip I was sick...(bad cold) Everyone else was fine...I have never taken Airborne can kids take it? What is it? Thanks!!

I got it too. We were there 10/27-11/4. I came down with something the last day - threw up at Epcot and passed out during airport security. Not sure if it was the flu or something I ate. I am still off.

We were there from 10/25 to 11/4, at SSR and OKW. Wonderful trip, loved both stays (OKW is my new favorite :cloud9: ) but we did all get sick. We all have chest colds fevers and I was also blessed with the stomach crud. We still managed to have a great time and it really didn't hit full force until our last day. Now we are just wiped out from the trip and being sick.

Today is the first day I feel completely well. This really wiped me out for one week. I am sorry to hear that others were sick during the same time frame. I hope that everyone will feel better real soon.
