Shuttles

Does anyone know of some inexpensive shuttles that go from nearby offsite hotels to disney? Also, are these any good and are they fast? It's either shuttles, taxis (expensive), or the lynx (the public bus). Any comments on either of those also? Thanks

I'm sure Mears would do this, but if you're staying off site and plan on doing theme parks, I'd rent a car. You can find great deals. In my opinion, you're going to find that using a shuttle from off site to WDW is going to be a real hassle and will take away from the magic of your vacation. You can get away without a car if you stay on site, but I really think you need a car if you're off site, especially if you're talking International Drive area or anywhere on I4.

renting a car will really add a lot to our expenses. Also, it's hard to find a place that will rent to someone under 25. (oldest driver in our group is 19). If you know any cheap places that will rent to us, then let me know. otherwise, shuttles are the only real option.

I stayed at the Ramada on International Drive--I think it's called Convention Center Ramada. They had a free shuttle to Disney and Universal. I could take the local tram for $3 per day to Sea World.

Another good option is a downtown Disney hotel. Try biddingfortravel.com,.Folks have gotten Best western Lake Buena Vista for $30 per night. It has a free Disney shuttle. Just bid $30 for 2 1/2* Lake Buena Vista region of Orlando if you're leaving soon. you might want two rooms although all our rooms had 2 queen beds.
