Shuttles from LAX

Can anyone reccommend a good shuttle from LAX that takes you to your hotel. The last time my wife and I went to DL we took a bus from the airport, but that was 3 years ago.

supershuttle is good. Book ahead though, all shuttles and buses seem to ask for 20 if you're just at the airport, but its usually a lot less if you book ahead. I noticed this with three companies including the disney bus which should only be 13 dollars. On a side note, Im not ever tipping those drivers again with garbage like that. If you call super shuttle ahead of time its 16 dollars. I prefer it to the bus as there are far fewer people so way less stops.

There's a bunch of shuttle services that run out of LAX. Prime Time and Super Shuttle are often used by DISboarders. Or you could take the Disneyland Resort Express, operated by Grayline. Here's a link to some coupons for $2.00 off per person, each way, for both Super Shuttle and Grayline: http://www.anaheimoc.org/Articles/Archive/Webpage10153.asp

Pete posted the link to the Grayline "Disneyland Express" Bus on the show notes from last week. I would honestly take them over Super Shuttle. (I used to commute to work by air in and out of LAX every week and gave up using Super Shuttle.) The reason - they stop more often for other passengers at those people's homes, and drive a bit "hastily". I get easily nauseous when I ride with Super Shuttle or other vans.

The Disneyland Express bus is cheaper and is non-stop to DL once it leaves LAX. No hassle, large bus, smooth ride through our hectic LA traffic. I like that idea.

My main issue with that bus is that it stops at a LOT more hotels. There is no maximum number of hotels, on top of that it sometimes makes you transfer buses at DLH to another bus, adding more time to the equation. To me its not worth the extra 3 dollars between any shuttle service and the bus for the extra time, easily up to a half hour sitting on a bus. Ive never felt unsafe in the shuttles, usually its traffic all the way from Lax to Disney and the shuttles take the hov lane so you're travelling in traffic at the same speed as traffic around you.

Ahh - I've only ever needed to take it to the DLH (many years ago before I moved here) so I didn't realize it went to other hotels. Good to know.

I know we all have our preferences, but I live in Los Angeles and commuted from home to the airport and back every M & F each week, so I can pretty much say that I have a completely different perspective on using our local shuttles than the average person coming in from out of town. I have been in ones that had too stong of air freshener, too much driver BO, too much cell phone use, too much lane changing, taking side roads to avoid the freeways (many of our freeways here in LA don't have HOV lanes), etc.

The additional time for multiple drop offs is a shuttle issue, too. I was never comfortable going to up to 6 other people's homes before I got to mine. It once took me an extra 1.5 hours to get home, because they decided I should be the last one to drop off. (I saw my neighborhood 3 times as the shuttle kept driving by it going to another location - he wouldn't stop to drop me off.) After that, I had to switch to personal drivers and towncars before leaving that job position.

Like I said, I live here and I won't trust putting my babies on one of those shuttles. Give me a large A/C bus with big comfy seats and get me there safely, on a smooth ride.

We took the Grayline "Disneyland Express" Bus from DL to LAX. It was so nice to sit back and not worry about traffic or getting lost[we spend 1/2 our lives lost! Dh even argued with the GPS in our rental car last time.]

So, it was soooooo, peaceful! We were the only ones on the whole bus. We had a late flight out of LAX.

I got the vouchers for the bus through AAA and Disney reservations while getting our DL hopper passes. They ask was there anything else and I said the last thing I need is to get tickets for the Grayline "Disneyland Express" Bus. They said just a minute and I had bus vouchers added to my order!!

And just FYI at LAX Southwest Air is right at the front of the terminal after security!!!! That was so nice!!

If you want to splurge a little we reserved a car from Prime Time to pick us up. The Driver met us at baggage claim with a cart for our luggage. I think it was about $92 one way which included all fees and the tip.

Does anyone know if Hojo is one of the last hotels for drop off and pick up? I would assume so.... Thanks, if anyone knows!!

Does the Disney bus have characters painted on it? Do they do anything special like play disney music...show videos...?

I've heard/read it has characters on the outside and that they play Disney movies. I just booked it online this morning and still am waiting for my confirmation email...how long is it supposed to take?

It really does have characters on the sides. They use that same skin technique that they do on the WDW Monorail windows with the tiny holes. It's currently done up with the Year of a Million Dreams design - saw it 2 weeks ago when we were heading to the park.

I would say if you don't have anything by tomorrow, I would call or email them.
