shuttle services?

Does anyone know if the WDW Value Resorts offer a shuttle service to the parks? How often do they run? Are they difficult to locate at the parks to get back to the resort?

Also, has anyone stayed off property and used a hotel shuttle service? How was that experience?

All of the Disney resorts have Disney resort buses that run every 20mins or so from your resort to the parks and back. Everything is very clearly marked.

We have never stayed off-site so I cannot comment other then to say you will not be let off as close to the parks as you would be by taking Disney transportation.

The Disney value resorts run buses to all 4 parks, water parks, and DTD about every 15 minutes. The buses will let you off right in front of the park entrance!

If you stay offsite and they offer a shuttle there could be a charge! Also those shuttles do not let you off right at the park entrance, they aren't allowed to get that close. So you'd be walking farther.

Also, has anyone stayed off property and used a hotel shuttle service? How was that experience? When we stayed off-site the bus didn't run as often and shared with several hotels. Never really felt they would actually come...but eventually did...

We stayed off-site ONCE (granted this was 7 years ago) and the buses only came a handful of times a day so we had to plan accordingly and if you missed that one evening bus you had to get a cab.
It also shared with about 3-4 other hotels so it took forever to get to the parks and it was a hike once you got there. Dont reccomend it.
The extra money spent at the Disney resorts is WELL worth it. Plus you get the added bonus of some extra Disney back at your resort!! Cant put a dollar sign of that.

Some friends went to WDW without a hotel reservation (GASP! How can people do that????? ) and stayed somewhere off site. Their shuttle ran once an hour ... sorta. They would run down main street, find it had left early, and have to wait another hour! Even these non planners decided to stay on property for their next trip so they could have Disney transportation.

At all the resorts, the bus stops are clearly marked. There are shelters and benches. At the parks. the bus stops for the resorts have big signs. The buses are labeled also. You won't have a problem.
