shuttle/rocket launch?

I see a rocket launch is scheduled while we'll be in orlando and I was wondering a few things. Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone see a shuttle or rocket launch at KSC? Did you pay for the viewing area? I know it's $90 for the space shuttle is it the same price for rockets?
If you didn't pay where did you park and was the viewing good enough that you would do it again?

run a search on shuttles, just a week or 2 ago, there were several of them. One was about the best place at WDW to view and another was the best place in the area to view.


FWIW, I wouldn't pay to see a launch.

We did not have the greatest experience on this one, because the launch was scrubbed. If it had gone off, I am sure that we would have been awestruck. BUT, it didn't and it was a crazy day. We got off DCL and went over to KSC. (Just an FYI, we had entrance cards that told us we could only go in between 1:30 and 2:30, but they let us in right away at 9:00). It was super duper crowded and HOT. It was our least favorite day of our vacation. If you are planning to go, please consider what happens if the launch is scrubbed. We couldn't see alot at KSC because the bus tours weren't running, and the saturn V rocket area was closed. Like I said, if it had gone off, I am sure that we would have thought it was the best day. I guess I would recommend seeing KSC on a non launch day because then at least you can see the whole center.
