Shuttle questions! WDW to non-DCL port?

We're going on a Norwegian cruise in August and then doing WDW when we return. It's only my second cruise, so I'm an idiot with how things work. That said, questions about shuttles:

1) If we stay at a Disney resort the night before our cruise, can we purchase a transfer to the port, even though we're not sailing DCL? My guess is no, but getting a taxi from DCL to the Norwegian dock sounds much easier than renting a car.

2) I've been looking at "snooze and cruise" packages that would shuttle me from an Orlando hotel to Port Canaveral but, understandably, all the hotels are near the airport. Is there such a thing as a snooze and cruise package from non-Disney hotels in Kissimmee? Am I reaching for the stars here? (Yeah, I think so, too, but thought I'd ask.)

I know the easiest thing would be to simply stay at a hotel on Cape Canaveral, but I'm planning on spending the night before our cruise either at Disney Springs or resort hopping. Any guidance would be much appreciated!

1/ will not work goes direct to DCL terminal only.
2/ I would just recommend booking your own private shuttles. They are inexpensive.

I know it only goes to DCL, but I thought maybe I might be able to go there and then hop in a cab to get over to Norwegian. My question is more will they let me do that? (Thanks!)

The issue before that, is you will hit disembarkation of a Disney ship just as you want to get a taxi, But DCL transfers are for DCL cruises only. So DCL wouldn't allow it.

Does Norwegian have transfers from MCO? Only alternative to a private transfer maybe Magical express from resort to MCO then Norwegian transfer?

1. No. Transfers are booked through the cruise line, and you do not have a DCL reservation.
2. Are you staying at a Disney resort? You could use MDE to go to the airport. I would guess Norwegian offers transfers from the airport.

Have you considered renting a car?

Thanks, all! That was helpful (and fast!). I think my fastest and cheapest option is to do a snooze-and-cruise from an airport hotel (and just Lyft back and forth to Disney Springs that night). I considered renting a car but it's hard to beat a hotel room, pickup from airport, and shuttle to the port for under $200.

Enjoy.

Have you looked at private transfers to port? Even when I stay at a Disney resort pre-cruise I never use their transfers to port. I always go with a private transfer. I’ve used Happy Limo many times for anywhere from 2 to 16 people to Port Canaveral. Depending on how many people you have oftentimes taking a private transfer is equal to or less than what Disney charges for transfers. I’d look up a private ride and go on my schedule.

We stayed at a WDW-area resort to a Carnival cruise and renting a car was the cheapest (we used AVIS and were able to stop and pick up water and wine on the way). Since you are staying WDW resort, the cheapest would be to use WDW free shuttle to airport and then use Cortans shared shuttle from the airport to the port. You also could hire Mears or Happy Limo for your own door to door car service.

While it might be cheapest - it's going to be a longer trip that way. Figure an hour from WDW to airport and and hour from airport to port.
