What's then best way? Shuttle or taxi? Anyone know the rough cost of either?

Taxi (car and or van ) flat rate from John Wayne is $45. when you get to the taxi stand just tell the guy you want a flat rate.. never used a shuttle ..

I travel in a group of 5, all with large bags and carry on.. we get the taxi van and its the above price..
Im sure if you are traveling as a single its cheaper to go the shuttle route, but unless its private it wont be direct.

A taxi is often cheaper for a group of 3 or more. Convenience also has a price for my wife and I so we take a taxi even though its going to be a bit more than the cost of the shuttle because its just us and goes directly to our hotel without other stops. Haven't had occasion yet to try Uber from SNA but would do that on our next trip.

Don't pay a flat rate for a taxi from John Wayne - it will cost you more. Just pay the meter rate and it will cost you between $36 and $40 (we have NEVER paid more).

We usually do taxi but this trip I think we'll try Uber. We used Uber a few times in WDW last year and I was really impressed!

Taxis can range depending on traffic. We have routinely paid $55+ with tip. We just got back from a quick weekend trip to Disneyland last night and we tried uber for the first time from John Wayne. $19 each way (one was Saturday morning and the other was last night) for our family of four. Omg where have I been? It was awesome. I actually loaded the app in baggage claim and on a whim we decided to try it.

I use Uber frequently but they aren't allowed in a lot of airports so this is good info that they can pick up at ANA.

Did you do reg uber or did you have to do XL? and how many bags did you guys have? we have 2 adults 2 kids (7&8) this might be better than DLE

Any advice for a family of 7? 2 adults, 5 kids age 8-12! with probably 3 suitcases
Thanks!
Jana

I was worried about this but didn't have a problem. I'm not sure whether they are allowed or not (and I just got lucky). No idea.

We used regular uber. There were four of us--all adult size as my kids are tall teens (16 and 19). We had one big roller bag and three roller carryons. I figured if it was a prius or something like that we could have the carryons on our laps. Ended up being a jeep cherokee (new) so no problem at all. You should read the descriptions to see for your situation. They were pretty good. I still can't get over $19! And that included tip. I ended up giving the driver an extra $5 in cash, but I know it isn't necessary. What a deal.

Taxis are easiest. Shuttles are cheapest.....$11 per person and they put you in a shuttle that is there and pretty much ready to go. No real waiting around (unless you pre-book a specific shuttle) and off you go. You might have to make a couple of stops before yours, but it does not really take too much time. (the most we have had were 2 stops before ours.)

I just booked with Lanskey ( www.golansky.com ) for $155 round trip from SNA to our hotel, with a stop at the grocery store on the way. We have four adults and three kids, two that need boosters, and this car service provides them. :)

I had previously booked with Super Shuttle, and because of the size of our party, we scheduled a whole shuttle van to ourselves, and it was $125.

I decided to go with the car service because I like the booster being provided and being able to stop at the store. I also like that they will be there, holding a sign with our name on it, instead of fighting the people at the Super Shuttle space.
