Shuttle Bus options from Port Canaveral to Disney or Universal

Down the last part of the trip planning, which is getting to Port Canaveral and back. We are doing a 2 night stay in Disney (old key west) prior to our cruise, and a 2 night stay in Universal after the cruise (Cabana Bay). Seeing plenty of shuttle bus options from MCO to the Port, but not quite so many from the resorts. We are a party of 3.

- OKW to Port (DCL shuttle?, $105 for 3 people)
- Port to Cabana Bay (???)

On renting a car, I'm not opposed but I don't care to rent a car one way to come back given what I've read here about the lines following disembarkation. If I rented car for the full cruise (rent,park at Port,drive back) this would add up or exceed what a shuttle would run and wouldn't be worth the extra hassle in my opinion.

Could get a taxi to come back from Port, but we're looking at ~$150.

Surely there's some good shuttle bus options coming back from Port to Universal/Disney that isn't the DCL line, but I'm having trouble locating them - my searches come back with private cars or MCO-only shuttles. Any ideas?

A private shuttle company may well be your best bet. We used one called Laura's Shuttle - they customized our trip for us. In our case we went from Port to Universal then to MCO. It cost $165 for 5 of us. Many people recommend Happy Limo or Tiffany towncar etc. I would have highly recommended Laura's Shuttle except that I see their more recent reviews are more negative and it sounds like business is booming but they can't keep up :/

Laura's Shuttle would be a good recommendation if it weren't for the terrible reviews of late. It's too bad they don't have their stuff together. It would seem this could be a business opportunity in the making: transportation company that (among things) specializes in providing a shuttle bus from the Port to Disney and Universal resorts when the cruise ships are coming in. Beyond the DCL shuttle going from Port to Disney resort, I'm not sure what else there is in a shared shuttle situation.

In the end, I went with reserving DCL shuttle to get from Port to a random Disney resort (Saratoga Springs in this instance) and will get an Uber/Lyft from Saratoga to Cabana Bay. Cheaper than a reserved private car going straight to the resort.

Just curious, did you have a reservation at Saratoga Springs? I'm under the impression you can't book DCL transfers to a resort from the port unless you have a reservation at said resort.

I don't have a reservation at Saratoga. I guess they don't have a hard requirement on it - my travel agent checked with the reservation folks and they allowed it. I'm pretty sure you do have to have a reservation at the pickup resort when getting picked up.

I don't know if it mattered that I have a valid reservation at a disney resort prior to the cruise to allow my dropoff, but there you have it.
