Shutter's

I know that you can buy the package from Shutter's. My question is there will be just me and DM. No kids. Will there be enough opportunies for 10 pictures taken of the two of us on the 3 day cruise. Or do they just look mostely for the little ones? Do you think it would be best for me to just buy them as I go and not worry about the package of 10.

I would buy them as you go,especially on the 3 day. I am a single mom and went on the 7 day and bought an 8x10 on the formal night$20 and 2 other smaller ones at $10 each. I took the same pics with my camera and they came out almost as good. I would buy them if you think it's really good but it adds up quickly. There weren't 10 pictures that I would have bought for the packagae deal. They also do 1 hour developing which I recommend b'f buying a bunch.

If you buy the package but let them know that you don't have any kids, they will photograph the two of you (both formal shots and candids around the ship). They will shoot the pictures because they <I>want</I> to sell them! Shutters does great work and it's nice to be photographed together without having to hand your camera to someone else to get the two of you. A lot of couples without kids <I>do</I> buy a package to have a high quality record of their magical cruise together. If you think you want several photos, the package is the best choice. If you only want a few shots, then it isn't. Keep in mind that if you do <I>not</I> buy the package and do <I>not</I> have kids, they will probably not shoot any candids of you.

IMHO, the Shutters package is good only if you have young kids who hang out around the pool or the characters a lot. We bought the 10 package. Only 11 pictures of any of us were taken and I would have purchased only 3or 4 of them. Also, the formal pictures don't "count" toward the package -- you have to buy them separately. We ended up with a picture of our son at dinner that he hates, a picture of our family embarking that I hate (we look like pack horses) and two pictures of my hubby and I that are virtually identical except for hand placement.

If Shutters wants to sell more pictures, they should occassionally visit the teens hangouts too.

Ok, enlighten me please. This package is obviously something new since we last sailed and I haven't seen anything about it in the literature or posts I've been reading. Would anyone please share details please?

I guess people have different levels of satisfaction TeensMom. I understand how you feel, but for some people Shutters is the right choice. My nextdoor neighbors went on the Magic last month, just the two of them. They bought TWO Shutters packages and were very pleased. I saw some of the pictures and they were terrific. But then they are a very photogenic couple and maybe hard to take bad pictures of. Anyway they were happy with Shutters.

When we went last December, I was buying single pictures, not the package. Then a day later when I went back in, and bought more, I asked her if I could buy the package, and get the credit for the pictures I had already purchased. She said yes, and I just brought in my reciept, and she switched me to a package. She was great about it. So you may want to ask if you can buy the package later in your cruise.

I was very pleased with the pictures from Shutter's, however, like kc and sunshine, I too had many of the same pictures on my camera. Most were of the kids though. It would be nice for someone else to take some pictures of the two of you. I know we always end up with less of my husband and I since it can be a hassle to get someone else to take the pictures.
