Shutters pre order

Glad to hear everyone's thoughts on these. We have never pre-ordered and never bought more than 2 prints and have not regretted it. I know that if I get the CD, I will most likely hate 90% of the photos and if I didn't get it, I would end up loving them all. LOL! This way I just get a couple that I know I am in love with, as I really don't need any more than that. We are only considering it for the TA cruise, because it is so much longer.

Well, you can pre-order (in order to get the discount) and, if you don't like enough of the photos, you can cancel the package for a full refund, as long as you cancel it by the last full day of the cruise.

I just learned that in this thread and am glad to hear it! Thanks so much, it will definitely make things easier! LOL

For a 7 night cruise, about how many pictures are on the disc? I know it varies for everyone...just curious!

My family takes about 400-500 pictures per cruise (usually on a 7 night). I think we had more than 1 CD...my brother took care of uploading the pictures onto a USB to share.

We are very active about taking pictures with characters and doing family portraits. It just depends on how active your family will be.

Say you have 100 photos if you bought the CD and prints it would be $395 and you would get an 8x10 of all 100 photos? along with the CD?
Thanks for your help :)

i'll start by saying we always pre purchase the cd, however..the prints you see on the boat don't all have the borders which i like and almost ALL of the cd prints have boarders which blocked some of our faces and took away from some really great pictures...yes you can crop them out but not entirely.

Do they let you view all of the prints at once while on board, before you decide to get the CD?

Also, can my sister and I (2 different rooms) share a package? Thanks!!

Well, you probably won't be able to see the actual prints, but you can see the all photos on the photo kiosk in Shutters.

For a full CD, it's one per room. So your sister and you (different rooms) will not be able to share it. However, if one room purchase a full CD, a second room (in the same party) can purchase the full CD for 50% off (or used to be able to).

We are taking a 7 day cruise in 2 weeks- we had same question as to whether it was worth it. Ended up purchasing cd but can not imagine how you get 400 photos?! How many poses/pictures are allowed for formal dinner, with characters, etc... It's our first cruise so I don't know exactly how it works, but I'm assuming there are people waiting behind you in line. Are there that many opportunities for pics to be taken. There are 5 in my room. Any tips on getting lots of great pics?

You can get lots of pictures. I would suggest you be mindful of the lines behind you when you start taking different variations of people for your pictures. I've been in line behind parties that wanted photos with grandma, all the grand kids; Aunt Sue's family; Uncle Bill's family; Grandma and all her kids; all the girls; all the boys; etc; etc; etc. It really wastes a lot of time for everyone. If you want multiple pictures (like more than 2 or 3), please get back in line.

There is no limit to the amount of pictures or poses that you can take. But like PrincessShmoo said that you should keep in mind that there is a line. With my family, we typically do a group family picture and then a picture of just my nephew with the characters. Also, my family never takes a picture on our camera with the character anymore because we know that we are getting a digital version of it. So, we never worry about it. Sometimes, we will sneak out of dinner to take a quick picture with a character that we love because most people will either be at dinner or watching the show. Arrive early to the popular characters that you love because they may have a line started for them already. We definitely did that for some of the outfitted Mickeys and Minnies.

We take the most advantage during formal night. We make the whole family get ready early and we go down to take pictures. Usually during this time, there is not many people around or very few... so we definitely do a lot more poses and move around quickly. Sometimes, we will go to the location that has the shortest line. Another bonus opportunity to take pictures... is that they typically have the white background out on most nights, so we take pictures there as well because no one is in line for those typically or very few. My family tends to dress up a lot by matching or in homemade outfits.

I honestly never noticed how many pictures we took until recently when someone asked us on the cruise and my sister-in-law answered. We just have fun with it especially during the formal nights, but I do want to say that we spend a good hour before dinner taking pictures with characters or the portraits.

Thanks for advice- will definitely do that. When you say you went down early- how much time should I allow? We have main dining seating.

We typically would aim to get there about 10 minutes before the character we want to see gets out there and usually line up behind the more popular one since that line is always the longest. We had the first (early) main dining seating, so most people are usually still out doing activities or trying to get ready for dinner. We have a toddler with us the last cruise, so sometimes we would send my parents to wait in line for us while we try to get him ready. I hope that helps.

Remember to get tickets for the princess gathering, etc. on the first day...

Does anyone know if they take pictures of the kids in kids club too? If I purchased the CD with all prints would those pictures be on it as well?

They do not take pictures of kids in the clubs. Well, Shutters doesn't. Some activities do involve photos, but those are generally taken by the YA CMs.
