WE WILL BE WANTING TO ORDER ONE OF THEIR PKGS BUT I HAD SOME QUESTIONS.

IS THERE DIFFERENT PACKAGES?

HOW MUCH ARE THEY?

I read this from a Navigator that our TA gave to us.

6 X 8 Packages....

10 Photos - $84.95
15 Photos - $119.95
20 Photos - $149.95

It does not list any of the 8 X 10 packages.

If I recall, I think they are 19.95 a piece and after 5 you get 1 picture of the ship with a Disney Cruise Album for one of your pictures. ITs not that good of a deal. Im pretty sure that is what the deal is.. if im wrong, please correct me. I hope this helps :p  ;)

How many pictures on average are taken of each person/couple? I realize there are a lot of "optional" photo opportunities i.e. you have to stand in line for them. It will only be the 2 of us honeymooning and no kids.
THANKS!

My advice, based on our August trip would be NOT to buy the photo pckages in advance.

We traveled with my husband, our two teens and me. We did not hang out at the kids pool, kids activities or kids beach. Those seem to be the locations where the photographers hang out -- in addition to the staged photos where you stand in line (but see note below about those).

We bought the 10 for $85 package (debated about the 15 but fortunately went for 10). By the end of the week, there had only been 11 photos taken of us in total and we didn't love all of them. There was one of family I didn't like, one of son he didn't like and a few at the character breakfast. None taken of kids at teen activities (and they were involved in ALL of the teen activities), only a couple at dinner other than character breakfast.

We found out later that if you do not pre-buy the package but, at the end of the week have 10 (or 15, etc) pictures you like, you can get the package price. They come along and pick up photos every day or so but we found that if you find the photos you like and put them all together on the rack, they won't dispose of them.

Also, a lot of the staged photos (i.e. that you stand in line for), are 8 x 10s - they aren't part of the package. We didn't know that and ended up buying more 8 x 10s than from the package. We LIKED the 8 x 10s - didn't like the package.

Just our recent experience.

Best wishes in wedding planning and marriage!

I was given the option of downsizing my package at any time during the trip. I really wish that they would allow you to keep all the pics in one place for the duration of the cruise, so that I could pick the best of the bunch, rather than playing odds that the pics would not have been thrown away so that I could buy them at the end.

Every day, stop by Shutters, gather up all your pictures and keep them together. Then, they will be together your entire cruise. At the end of the week, you'll be able to go through them and decide which ones you want to get.

I have to agree w/Teens mom about the TEEN photos......they were non-existent. I thought they would have some of them during the WILD SIDE etc.... but they didn't. My teen participated in all of the functions and I really was hoping to have some photos that reflected what they had been doing.....(maybe they didn't really want me to know...;) )

Anyways, our family of 4 didn't really get in many of the photos with the exception of the Staged photos. I thought the character breakfast was WEAK in comparison to those at the restaurants at the "resorts" , they took 1 group photo with other people, I'm not sure we will even attend the one at this cruise.

Grouping pictures doesn't guarantee they stay together. The CMs move pics around as different themed shoots come up.

On formal night watch upstairs on deck 5 - DS & I caught Cinderella & I think Snow White in each corner above Lumiere's. We were so excited and we were dressed so nice couldn't resist. On my way back on another night I found Mickey and had my picture with him ALL ALONE (this one I took with MY camera!! ºOº). The same night Donald was dressed in his tux near one of the clubs! It was like a scavenger hunt and we had so much fun.

We bought the package and as you pick the photos, they punch the card. An 8x10 is actually worth two punches on your card. IMHO, worth the $$.

Does anyone know how much the onboard photo processing is? Have never used it but seen it advertised and can't remember if I thought it was expensive or about right.

Thanks in advance!

I had several rolls developed at Shutters. I believe it was around $7 per roll for 24 single shots. Not what I pay at home, but not horrible. They also gave me a print of the Wonder for each roll I had developed--nice for scrapbooking.

but, after I read several people post that hint HERE, I tried it and it worked for us. We lost a couple and had to re-look, but the majority all stayed together.

NCRedding - thank you for replying! I think I'd rather use them than wait and see what I've taken!

Have a great day!

My sister just returned and had 5 pictures left on her card. She gave it to me. Are they good on multiple cruises and can I use them?

Just remember that anything you pay for onboard photo processing counts against the limit for customs!

after we move & group our photos can we just put on a yellow stickie "Please dont move, considering buying"

IF I BUY A PKG. WILL THEY LET ME PUT PICTURES ASIDE AND PIC FROM THEM AT THE END? OR WOULD THEY STILL GET OUT OF ORDER?

Like many others have said, we looked every day for pictures of our group and then moved them all to the same place (8x10) and (6x8). Then by the end of the cruise we decided if we needed to purchase a package (yep). Once we arrived home we found that there are not very many 6x8 frames available. So we took our pic's to a framing shop and they framed and matted them into a BIG frame. They looked at our pic's and decided that the 6x8's could be cropped down to 5x7 to match some of the 5x7's we purchased of the ship and characters. If I had thought of cropping the pic's down, I could have saved a bundle on framing.

Hint: Buy a DCL cruise frame (6x8) for your favorite picture, then plan on cropping the other 6x8's down to 5x7 for framing.

The worst thing I saw was a lady who took her pic's out into the hallway, layed them out on the floor and was taking pictures of the pictures!!! I'm sure her "copies" didn't turn out that well, but I still couldn't believe it!!

Try Ritz camera shop for 6x8 frames. They usually have a good assortment.

Thanks for letting us know that 2 punches equals one 8x10. That had not been mentioned before.

I wish I had known that the 8x10s equaled 2 punches. As I mentioned before, we did not really like our 5 x 7s (what few there were) and ended up buying several 8 x 10s. It would have been nice if the Shutters folks would have told us that when we asked about a refund on the package (were told no).
