I'm hoping someone can clarify something for me. We are getting excited for our first cruise in April!

We have a large family (four kids, 16 and under), and therefore are required to have two staterooms. I'm in one with two kids and my dh is in the other with the other two kids. I read something that says my kids under 18 in another stateroom can be included in my CD. Will they allow all six of us (same immediate family) to have pictures together? I obviously wouldn't be paying for a CD if it doesn't include my whole family:confused3

If we can't be on the CD together, will they still take pictures of all of us together so I can just buy some prints?

Also, what is the current cost of the CD?

Thanks so much!!

CDs are one per room. HOWEVER, the only exception made is where there are immediate family in 2 rooms (Mom & child(ren) in one room and Dad and child(ren) in second room). In that case, they will do one CD.

If there are multiple rooms with other than immediate family (aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, etc.) it's one CD per room. I have read recently that they have been allowing the additional rooms in these cases to purchase their CDs at half price, but I don't know if that's a given or just on a case by case basis.

Here's what I have on the pricing:
PHOTOS
Individual prices are:
8X10 - $19.95
6X8 - $12.95

The packages are 10 ($149.95) and 20 ($249.95) photos.

The length of cruise CD cost varies with length of cruise. The prices I've seen are:
7 night $349.95; 4 and 3 night $229.95. For an additional $50.00 you can get all the photos on the CD printed. Special CD prices – 14 night $399.95/$75.00 for prints, only 100 CDs max produced on the cruise.

The 10 & 20 photo package can be either prints or the CD with 10 or 20 photos unlocked for your access once home.

OMG those photo prices are insane! Where do they take pictures of everyone at? It almost doesn't seem worth it, but how many photos would they take on a 4 day cruise?

I bought the cd for our 5 day for $250 and got 131 photos from it. They're at all character greetings, castaway cay, formal family photos with multiple background choices, pirate night and formal night restaurant pics, wayyyyyyy worth it!

I knew that we wanted nice pictures, so it was worth it for us. My best friend, her mom and I split the cost and it was $93 per person. We had 119 pictures on a 3 night cruise. They don't only have background pics...they also take pics of the character interactions, and on Castaway Cay. They have backdrop pics each night. The Navigators have the times listed.

Thank you all so much! It's nice to have a general idea of what to expect. I'm really hoping to get some good family pictures, especially since I don't know when we'll be able to do a cruise again.

I was wondering if Disney photographers will take
pictures with your camera like they do at Disney World?

The Shutters photographers (a concessionaire, not Disney people) will not.

Many photo locations will have a DCL CM assisting the photographer. They will use your camera to take your picture, if you wish.

Yes the CM will take your pics most of the time, sometimes they're busy with other guests asking questions or other things. I missed out getting some pics on my camera because some lady was talking to the CM trying to save a spot cause the rest of her family was taking pictures with another character, and they were going to jump in where she was holding their spot...

If you're going to get the full cruise CD, just commit to taking pictures where ever you see them. We liked the family photo ones too (without the characters). I'm usually the photographer so I'm rarely in pictures, so it was nice to get some with my wife, my son and I all in one picture. If not were stuck with selfies.

We had a maybe 100 pictures or so, but we only decided to get the full CD more then half way through our cruise. I think my wife paid the extra 50 to get all the 8 x 10 photos too.

We're planning to go on the Panama Canal cruise next. Nice to see its only 50 more then what we paid on our 7day. Think we're gonna have way more pics on that cruise.

Can you arrange for them to take candid photos? For example, of your kids playing in the pool or at the beach castaway cay? I would not like to have all just posed photos.

We bought the full CD and prints from our 7 night cruise, I never thought I'd pay $400 for the CD, but we got some amazing family photos.

Are their "standard" shots included on the CD? What I mean is, are there shots of scenic Castaway Cay, or Scenic Nausau, Or of the ship, etc...:confused3

But you could only open it once (reading from a previous post, and then what? Can you size them if you wanted to put them in a 5x7 vs an 8x10?

Hmm haven't heard anything about not being able to open it more than once. However I just loaded the CD and software, then exported all the pictures to my home server and we kept the CD for backup. I believe when you buy the CD you buy the digital rights to the images which is why it's more expensive.

That's what we did also. The CD also has a copyright form that you can print at home in case you need it to print the images. We printed several things at Walgreen's and they wouldn't print without the consent because it was copyrighted. Once we showed them the form they printed it all without any problems!

So, if me and my boyfriend (we're in our 20s) are in one stateroom, and my parents are in another. Can we just buy the one cd?
We're on the WBTA in September & I'm hoping to get lots of photos!! :D

No, you will be required to purchase two discs. Unless you get a really nice CM in Shutters.

So…in order to take advantage of Shutters, we need to find all the photo ops and do them, right? Can we decide at the end of our cruise if we want to purchase the CD or do we have to pre-purchase it? I'm not sure how many character greeting we'll do, my DD doesn't like characters, and my kids aren't up on tons of posed photos either…though we usually do PP+ in WDW so…I can't decide!
