HI...We are going to WDW is 2 weeks. We have reservations at Shulas our first night. We have never been there, but are going to be celebrating our 20th Anniversary and hubbys safe return from Iraq. Any suggestions or opinions on Shulas? Thanks for any advice!!

It is very good but very costly. We have one locally so we dine at other places when in WDW.

If you have never been before I say go for it!

Congratulations and a welcome home to DH!!

Shula's is the best steakhouse at WDW. You've doubtless already seen the menu, but when you go, ask if they have anything special that nite. Often they will have a petite filet/lobster combo that won't appear on the menu.

My favorites are the Porterhouse, the Steak tartare, the bacon wrapped shrimp.

Bring your wallet, a big appetite and enjoy every bite!

P.S. Share the sides

Congrats on the anniversary and best wishes on a magical reunion!

Shula's is, in my opinion, the best steakhouse on property by a WIDE margin. As others have mentioned, it's not inexpensive, but prime beef never is, and in my opinion it is worth the price. It's quiet and clubby and romantic in a "steakhouse-y kind of way". As far as suggestions, I second the surf and turf, and the 48 oz. porterhouse to share is an experience worth remembering!

One small hint is to buy a gift certificate off http://www.restaurant.com; they are currently offering a $25 gift certificate, and if you sign up with them, you'll get e-mails nearly daily (it get's quite annoying, actually) with discount codes that would enable you to pay just $2 for the $25 gift certificate. It's not a huge savings, but hey, it's something!

Thanks to all for the great info and sweet wishes!!! Also for the tip for the restaurant.com gift certificate. I bought one today for $2.00. I feel like somehow I'm cheating someone out of $23.00 but I'm still excitied!! Lol Thanks again!! :goodvibes

NOTES:
Shula's is at the Dolphin Resort, thus just a little inconvenient
unless coming from DHS or Epcot. The restaurant is not owned
by Disney. Shula's is a chain and this eatery does not disappoint.
Beware, it is pricey.

First off, I want to say Thank You to your DH for protecting and serving our country. :thanks: It always makes me so happy when our service men and women come home safe and sound. :yay:

Second. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. :goodvibes

Now to Shula's. DW and I loved, and I mean LOVED Shula's. :cloud9:

I think everyone that posted before me pretty much summed it up.

It is very expensive, but well worth it.
Share the sides.
Don't forget to take a picture with the football menu. You'll see what I mean when you go.
If you're not staying at the Dolphin, don't forget to have the staff validate your valet parking. This way you don't have to pay for parking.

We used a restaurant.com certificate there last August.

The meat was very good. Everything else, okay.

The steak entrees are just a steak. Nothing with them at all.
So not only are the steaks $$$$, but anything else costs extra too.

Luckily the night we were there they had a steak and lobster special that included even a dessert. $100 per couple.

Our meal was for our anniversary too. They also gave us each a glass of champagne. I don't like alcohol. I gave it a sip. Yuck. DH drank both, and I drove home. ;) He said it was good champagne. But to my taste buds it all tastes like Nyquil.

We have gone a couple of times over the years and have been extremely happy with both the food and service each visit. The Steak Mary Ann (think thats the spelling) was outstanding.

WE LOVED IT! You can find pics and a review in my Boardwalk TR in my signature.

Congratulations on your anniv. and thank you dh for serving our country.

Dh and I went in December. You can look up my review. I promised dh this for holding my hand when I was in a coma for 2 days post op cancer surgery.

We both had the special ribeye of the night. It was great.
We shared the baked potato side (didnt care for it)
We shared the creamed spinach, good but garlicky
The lobster bisque soup was good
Dh had some grilled shrimp appetizer and I forgot what I had?
For dessert we shared the chocolate souffle, so good!

Dont worry about the discount, we used our tiw card (20% off) and it was still like $160 with no alcohol either.

Its pretty dark in there too. Our bonus was even though it was so noisy we got to sit right next to Hank Aaron during the winter baseball meetings.

Enjoy your special dinner!!

We dined at Shula's for the first time and enjoyed our dinner. We plan to return sometime in the future. I had the filet and was a bit disappointed. It was very tender and grilled medium rare as I had ordered it, but there wasn't a bit of juice to be found. It made it taste rather dry. DBF had the rib eye. I can't remember the preparation but it was a bit spicy and may have been one of the specials He enjoyed it. We shared a salad which was very large, more than enough for both of us. We also ordered two sides, the sauteed mushrooms and creamed spinach. They were both excellent, but we couldn't finish either of them. When we go back we'll probably just get the spinach. Service was also excellent.
In retrospect we probably should have ordered the large porter house and shared it. If we don't do that next time I'll probably get a NY strip and hope for a little juice. By the way, the bearnaise sauce was very good. Our server brought me both that and the Mary Ann sauce with my filet. I much preferred the bearnaise.
We were prepared for the prices so that didn't bother us. (We have TiW.) We did end up leaving a lot of food which was unfortunate.

Best steak at WDW.

It is pricey and the portions are huge so plan to share and don't get too many sides.

Excellent wine list too.

You picked a very nice place for a romantic dinner!! We ate at Shula's once and really liked it. There is nothing in this world I love more than prime rib, so I really racked my brain trying to decide which steakhouse we should choose for our ADR. I'm really glad I decided on Shula's, everything was fresh and cooked perfectly, the prime rib is massive.. in fact portions in general are large... I wouldn't eat lunch that day. It is pricey, you'll pay for it but I think it's worth the cost. Enjoy!!

Thanks to everyone for the congrats for our anniversary and thank you's for my DH and his service for our country!! After reading everyones reviews we are looking more forward to it then before. We now know we will share the sides and be prepared for the bill. LOL! We will be eating there our first night of arrival. Right after checking into SOG from the airport and getting a taxi over to Shulas ( we have a 8:30 ADR). I'm sure we won't be filling up on the airplane snacks so we will surely enjoy our special dinner!

Shula's by far is the best Steak House at WDW, it's not even close.

The cost is average for what you would pay for a high end steak house serving dry aged and US Prime beef. So don't let that scare you. The steaks are big, the appetizers are great too.

If you husband likes martini's. have him try Smoke in Your Eye, it's not on the menu but they know how to make it.

Enjoy.
