I'm a die hard Dolphins fan...to get the football would be a dream. Now heres the question...anyone here finished the 48oz steak? How hard is it? I'm a light-medium eater, and well I would do almost anything to get the bonus.
So sound off if you have eaten this thing...how big is it?

I thought for finishing the steak you got your name on the plaque on the wall. I know the cost of the football is over $100 to purchase after you've made it into the 48 oz club.

To purchase the football menu, it's over $300.

We usually get the 22 ounce cowboy steak and thats pretty big.

Shula's 48 oz. ClubTM

28536 beef lovers of America and counting.

Shula's Steak House formed the 48 oz. ClubTM in 1989 to honor true beef lovers of America. The induction into this steak lovers club consists of finishing 48 ounces of the best beef money can buy - Certified Angus Beef®. As a member of Shula's 48 oz. club, you will receive a picture of Coach Shula, a personalized letter from Dave Shula as well as have your name displayed on our website.

For our proud 48 oz. club fans, we offer a commemorative football to honor this day. The football is personalized with your name and picture. You can even have it signed by the Coach himself. Click on the banner ad above to order your own ball.

Not only do we have 28536 members and counting, but we have many members who continue to renew their membership. One individual that should be mentioned is Taft Parker, who has eaten over one hundred 48 oz. steaks.

The day Taft Parker ate his one hundredth 48 oz. steak, Coach Shula presented him with a commemorative football to honor this accomplishment. Taft Parker was able to meet the Coach himself and Coach Shula had the opportunity to thank Mr. Parker personally for being such a big fan.

From what I understand it is huge and very hard to do. You may want to starve for a couple of days before trying it.

Haha oh my....I don't want to miss out on our character dining for this.....hrmm...maybe next time.

Go to the grocery store and find a 3 pound roast. That will be the size of this steak.

The recommended serving size for meat is 3-4 oz (about the size of a deck of cards). Now, I know that you will never find a steak that small in a restaurant, and most of us will eat double that size even when preparing food at home - however, a 48 oz. steak is the equivalent of 12-16 portions of the "recommended serving size", not to mention that works out to 3 full pounds of meat. There may be some big eaters out there who are able to manage that much food, but IMHO it is way too much for one person to attempt to eat in one sitting.

We were at Disney last week. We hadn't made a reservation for a dinner every night and one night we were sick of burgers, etc and decided to find a restaurant to eat in. An Impossible feat with the free dinning. Shula's was our last choice as we had never heard of it. Anyways we got our last choice. Wow! It was incrediable to say the least. The service amazing. we had 3 small kids with us and they were very accomadiating to that! The food was the best our whole trip. We love to eat out and eat well and boy did they surpass our expectations! It will diffently be on our list of "must eat at"next year.
On another note we try to eat at one really nice restaurant per trip to celebrate our anniversary, usually the California Grill. this year we decided to do the Yachtsman Steak House as we were in the BCV and it was convenient. It was our worst and most expenscie mistake of the trip. The Sevice was HORRIBLE. The steaks were not cooked to our specificatians, My husband orderd medium well and it came RARE! Our meals had to be sent back to cook more. The presentation was nothing more then a blob of brown on a plate. No vegetable or nothing for colour. Kids meal also did not come with a vegi! I had the warm chocalte cake for dessert. I'm a huge chocolate fan and there was nothing chocolate about it. It was so bad I couldn't swallow the first bite and had to spit it out! If you knew us you would know it had to be bad for us to complain as we normally just shrug or shoulders and say oh well won't do that again, but this was so much money and so bad!
Shulas made up for it and we highly recommend it to anyone

When I took my parents to WDW last year, my dad finished the whole thing. I have pictures of it at home (at work now). I will try and figure out how to post them tonight.

I have to say it was huge. My dad ate all of it AND ate the huge baked potato he ordered too. I honestly think he took it as a challenge. :rotfl2:
