Has anyone had this vaccine? I have an appt to get it tomorrow but am considering canceling it. Yikes! the side effects look worse than the covid shot. I am getting nervous.

Someone I know had it. It's the second shot--not the first--that gave her a bad reaction, which, I'm sorry to say, she described to me in detail.

We got it about 10 years ago. Neither of us had any reaction.

I think the Shingrix vaccine is relatively new. I think its only been out for 4 or 5 years so you probably had the older shingles vaccine. Good that there was no reaction though!

oh boy. How bad? worse than just flu like symptoms?

had 1st dose almost 2 months ago, so will get the 2nd when I can schedule. With the first shot, I only had a very sore arm, but I have heard the second dose has more side effects. I don't care, as I've had shingles, and it was HORRIBLE! I will do whatever to try and avoid getting it again.
I also had the older vaccine several years ago.

I keep telling myself the shot is better than the disease. I am so scared though.

I've considered it, but I thought there was quite a gap required between the doses and was afraid it would mess with timing if I need another covid booster.

I'm not sure if that actually applies to other vaccines as well, though. Does anyone know?

I've been putting it off because just about everyone I know (not all) have been miserable with the second shot.

Yes, I had the two doses last year and I thought they were pretty painful, especially the first one. My arm hurt for weeks after that first dose. I felt a little ill after each one, more so after the second one. But everybody is different, so you never know.

The gap is 2-6 months between the two shots.

I had a slight soreness in my arm after the first shot. For the second shot, the following day I felt fatigued and somewhat ill for about 8 hours. Then I felt fine. I know two people who had bad reactions so I was happy that I only had 8 hours of a little wonkiness.

I had both shots. I remember being tired after the second but nothing else.

I got the second one than had to wait two weeks for the Covid Shot.

I found the tetnus one hurt more.

Different for everyone , but my brother and husband had shingles and it had to hurt if my husband complains. So I got the shot.

Good to know - thanks!

2-6 months between the Shingrix doses for it to be most effective, or 2-6 months when you cant get any vaccines because that one is so strong?

2-6 is for most effective vaccine response I think. I thought you could get other vaccines with shingrix, but I'm not sure. I think you can get other vaccines in between the 2-6 months. I'll have to ask my dr. because I am due for my covid booster in July.
