Shrimp Tacos at Taco Bell....

Call me crazy, but I saw the billboard at our Taco Bell and was intrigued. I'm gonna give it a try.

The only good thing I have to say is that the guy in the commercial is kind of cute. But shrimp + Taco Bell just seems like food poisoning waiting to happen. And I don't mind Taco Bell; I just would never get shrimp there. :scared1:

I would love to try them - I love shrimp/fish tacos of all kinds, so I am intrigued.

However, they have an "avocado sauce" and I have a BAD reaction when I eat avocados... random and copious vomiting. NOT fun. When I asked about it, the Taco Bell order-taker offered to leave the avocado sauce off for me, but she didn't offer to sub any other sauce, and I was not sure what to ask for. It seemed to me that they would be fairly dry sans sauce, so I just skipped it and ordered my normal burrito.

I'd thought about trying one earlier but the price is rather steep at $2.99 per shrimp taco. Or one with a steak taco+drink for $5.99.

Since no food is actually cooked at a Taco Bell franchise (everything is cooked at a corporate location and shipped to individual franchises) I wonder if the shrimp will become rubbery during their reheat process.

If not, they certainly will if they sit too long under the heat lamps.

shrimp and heat lamps... some how I feel those 2 shouldn't be used in the same sentence.

They are pretty good. I dont know why you would want to throw up at what some1 thinks as food? I tell my kids not to say yuck to any food coz some1 else will be eating it!

Well, people eat Captain D's and Long John Silver's every day.....not me, mind you, but other people do :rotfl2:.....I don't really see how this could be different. People safely eat fast food seafood all the time. I haven't actually seen the advertisements. Maybe it hasn't wandered this far inland yet.

I had one today and it was very yummy! I would have had more than one but I think the price is too high.

We tried them tonight. DH and DS(16) loved them. DS(16) is a HUGE seafood fan...eats it every chance he gets. I think they are $1.99 here...I will have to look next time we go.

I on the other agree with some of the PP's, I will not eat seafood at a fast food restaurant or buffet...it is just food poisoning waiting to happen IMHO. DH and DS know I think they are eating at their own risk! lol

I tried one of these at lunch the other day - so yum! I welcome the addition to the menu. Taco Bell is so convenient to my work when I forget my lunch...it's nice to see variety.
