Showstoppers !

My dance studio went to a Showstoppers regional competition this weekend, and my group (senior class) did very well, so I'm gonna post our results!

in our lyrical division we placed 1st
in our senior jazz division we placed 3rd (out of 7 teams)
And in our senior open division we placed 1st also !

overall for "large group performance" we got 9th place, 8th place and tied for 5th place, out of like over 20 routines !

Oh gosh I miss dancing. I loved showstopper! I danced for a bout 10 years untill my freshman year and then I had to give it up becuase of school work and band and yearbook and my job. I danced with 'Ballet International' for a few years doing The Nutcracker. We toured the country one year. Well they do every year that was just the only year I went. Ballet International is like the 2nd best ballet company in the country. Good job hon I'm proud!

wow! that's so cool. except i'm not good at ballet at all! i've been dancing for .. well this is my 7th year, and only my 4th year of ballet. i refused to take it when i was little haha .
i love my studio. and the younger girls (aka "junior competition kids") did pretty well this weekend too. they're so cute !


our ballet recital is the wizard of oz this year, and yup, i'm not in it! (haha) i'm working backstage crew again! but i love watching it

Tap was my favourite. I loved doing ballet becuase I got to dance with Russians and people from Asia and they're amazing. They didn't really speak english and it was awesome. The costumes were hand made in Russia too. Oh my gosh I miss it so much

i did ballet when i was lilltle. like aroud 5(i am 13 now). For a few years now i have been doing gymnastics.

oh god, i hate tap! i took it for two years because my teacher added hip hop to it (kinda like "bring in da noise, bring in da funk", the savion glover show) but then she stopped.. so i stopped. and i just have no rhythm and i get so frustrated with it that i stopped , and i only tap like 3 or 4 times a year at conventions and my end-of-the-year recital.

i just got back from classes, and one of my teachers (lisa, whom i LOVEEE) told us that instead of monday nights : 1 hr ballet technique, 1 hr jazz, we're gonna have 2 hrs of ballet technique and NO jazz !!!!! I'm sooo sad. Instead, Lisa's teaching a "senior jazz" and a "senior hip hop" .. but the age group is getting changed to 7th through 12th grade!!!! i DO NOT want to dance with them!! my life is RUINED.
