Our DD will be in College this fall and we were unsure she would be making the trip with us. Since then she has registered for classes and she will be there for 4 of our 7 nights. I was able to change 2 of the 4 ressies we need to switch to 7 people instead of 6 with no problem but the other 2 are already booked up. :confused3

Has anyone ever showed up for a reservation with 1 more person and what happened? The reservations I could not change are for Mama Melrose and Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner. This will be for November 15th. week. This is the week prior to Thanksgiving so it should not be to terribly crowded.

Thanks :goodvibes

If you were going from 7 to 8 or 5 to 6, I would see minimal issues with this as tables are usually set for 2, 4, 6, 8, etc...but now your are going from a table of 6 to a table of 8. Most of the time the restaurants will work with you, but popular restaurants, especially CRT, may not be as flexible just due to how busy/packed they are. Also is the Mama Melrose a Fantasmic package, if so, that may present some additional problems.

Also, not to start a flame war, but is it fair to other people waiting either? You're basically taking a table from someone else, possibly delaying their seating.

I know how frustrating it can be not being able to just change your reservation, but unfortunately due to how packed the restaurants are it is what it is. If it were me, I'd keep trying to change the reservation.

I'd keep trying to change it, but also offer to squeeze in.

We did it on one trip when we had friends arrive unexpectedly. We just asked and and we squeezed in around the table. We had fun, we didn't hold anyone up (as far as I know), the wait staff got a great tip and the CM at the check-in area got complimentary calls to management. (Who returned our calls and said they'd make sure they were notified and it was in their files - or something like that.)

CMs are very accomodating if you are respectful, reasonable and polite. Our approach: If they can't do it, they can't do it - no big deal. But luckily we came across some great people who were amazingly nice.

I was wondering this also, I just picked up a ressie for 4 people (thank you again keliblue), then remembered our friend would be joining us making it 5 people in total, however one of those people would be my 17-month-old son who would be in a highchair. So hopefully it isn't too much of a big deal.
