Showing new APH at checkin? Or is voucher okay?

I am purchasing an APH for our September trip, and am planning on using it for hotel discounts. We did this a long time ago, and I cant remember the specifics. Will I able to check in using my voucher, drop our stuff off, then go into the park and have it activated? Best I remember, the desk let me do this, and i just had to come back by later and show them the real deal.

We stayed at HRH in June, and they didn't even ask to see my AP. When we checked in, all I had was the voucher, and I had reserved 2 rooms at the AP rate.

You don't need to purchase your AP before your trip. You can purchase it on your first day in the parks (or anytime during your stay, but you may want to purchase it your first day in the parks for the merchandise and food discounts it provides). As others have confirmed, as long as you show it before you check out you're good. However, if you would like to use it to obtain the 15% discount on multi-day tickets for others in your party you would need to purchase it before their first day in the parks.

just reread your post.

be sure to book the APH rate prior to going.
if you are going the end of september, don't wait too long to book your room.
only a certain % of rooms are available under the aph rate.

When we checked into PBR we just showed our voucher and he said that was fine. Have heard others say they had to activate their passes and then show them as long as it was before check out. Even heard a couple people weren't even asked and got the AP rate. Guess it just depends on who checks you in.
